Squiggs   11 #13 Posted February 17, 2014 Yes. Getting washed and dressed properly for interview is classed as part of the assessment. "if you can prepare for an ATOS interview you can prepare for a job interview"  I don't like saying that, as pre-assement anxiety is becoming a serious issue.  What I am really trying to say is to seek EXPERT advice rather than a general forum  A good general read: http://dpac.uk.net/2013/04/what-people-need-to-know-about-atos-assessments/  I would suggest investigating further using your B-i-L's condition in the search  Essentially, they are NOT there to judge fairly, they are unscrupulous mercenary bar stewards out to screw you. Even if the interviewer is essentially a nice person - if they don't screw you, then they are screwed.
 Share this content via...
day-break   10 #14 Posted February 18, 2014 The getting washed and dressed and getting to the assesment etc, cant be part of a physical examination because how can the assesor know if that person can or cannot dress themselves? Douglas J   10 #16 Posted February 18, 2014 Do atos gather any information prior to the assesment from consultants etc? Do they do an actual physical examination? sorry to be asking so many questions guys but, im just trying to gather as much info as possible from people who have actually been through the atos assesment. Regarding the ramp/walkway to the building, does it have non slip floor and handrails by any chance?  Here is an interesting and detailed account about a man who prepared his visit to ATOS carefully but their access was still so poor he felt he had to take legal action. it settled for £2000.  http://disabilitynewsservice.com/2013/04/atos-pays-out-to-man-left-in-pain-and-distress-by-assessment/
 Share this content via...

craigmason   10 #22 Posted February 26, 2014 you should not need to go to one of these atos assessments if you have been seen by a health specialist and been diagnosed with a serious medical condition are these pen pushers more qualified than a health specialist? cyb1 Â Â 10 #24 Posted April 13, 2014 i.m just glad he is ok after his fall !! i think these interviews are appalling !! they cause the disabled person so much stress and worry !! in fact yesterday i signed the you.38degrees.org.uk should atos be charged with manslaughter for the victims that have died as a friend of a friend tried to take his own life while waiting for his appointment ..he was caught in the act and lives on but many have succeeded, and i think someone should be taken to account as many disabled people think the goverment are trying to wipe them out anyway to save money!!
