beardo66 Â Â 10 #1 Posted December 10, 2013 So, Â Let me set the scene. Â 7.40am, just got off the bus and was walking to work past the Cutlers Hall (opposite to the Catherdral). Now there is some work going on with the building and the building next door, so there is some pretty substantial scaffolding. Â Then out of no where a large amount of rubble landed about a foot in front of me! Now I'm talking broken bricks, roof tiling and it hit with considerable force if i was directly under that then, probably would not be speaking to you now. Â Be Careful around there guys. DeathAxe   10 #3 Posted December 10, 2013 So, Let me set the scene.  7.40am, just got off the bus and was walking to work past the Cutlers Hall (opposite to the Catherdral). Now I'm talking broken bricks, roof tiling and it hit with considerable force if i was directly under that then, probably would not be speaking to you now.  Be Careful around there guys.  You could probably get a nice tidy sum of money for that. And the workers would have to do 6 months of H&S training.  Seems like those CSCS cards are not worth the plastic they are made from ;-)
 Share this content via...

Bludragonfly   10 #11 Posted December 10, 2013 (edited) I suggest that you report this as a 'near miss' or dangerous occurrence incident. You can report this to the Health and Safety Executive  HSE Telephone - All incidents can be reported online but a telephone service is also provided for reporting fatal and specified injuries only - call the Incident Contact Centre on 0845 300 9923 (opening hours Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 5 pm).  Adding an extra note  The Council might be the legal enforcement agency for this kind of work - you can contact the Health and Safety team in the Health Protection service on (0114) 273 5774 / 273 4415 Edited December 10, 2013 by Bludragonfly
 Share this content via...
