So if I had no interest in Tramlines but wanted to go to the Harley for a drink...i'd have to pay?

I can't decide if this years Tramlines will be its downfall really.

Sadly I think so. No big names so sponsors are likely to give it a miss I think. Comes down to money - sponsors are less likely to spend on something they don't see as likely to do so well and without the big names that's the case.

As bad as it is the market for less well known music isn't that strong.

Just my view of course.

I'm sure you could find plenty of other pubs in Sheffield that won't be charging that weekend. Tramlines has lost a lot of sponsorship money. There's no point moaning about it. What else are they supposed to do?

What an event last year and credit to everyone involved. It will just get bigger & bigger.

Everyone just wants everything for free. You only have to pay £6 to get into the main area on Devonshire Green which is a tiny part of a city wide event.

Im glad their charging a small fee as it will keep the chavs & trouble makers out.

Or hopefully people who just wanna moan about it too.

I hope you're right; I really do.

Sheffield needs a festival. We're a big city with lots of good music. We should have one.

My worry is that even as a musician myself I've heard of about three bands on the bill and I fear people won't pay for bands they don't know. Suppose we'll only know ticket sales and how they compare to last year after the event.
