i think everybodys thinking about punk from a very small circle, around 1976-1979 and especially the pistols, but it isnt that was part of the seed, it encompasses the globe, over 3 decades, and theres still plenty of "punk" bands now both young and old, with the original spirit

Yes but the world- and many original punks themselves- has become way more corporate and materialist. Look at the music industry today!

I heard Johnny Rotten on Mark Radcliffe a year or so ago saying that the butter ads had funded his new album.
