taxman
Whilst One Direction are still "keeping it real, old skool" then punk will never die. It will be hiding round a corner with a pint of snakebite and a hammer. I believe that children are our future. Unless we stop them now.

Electerrific
i think everybodys thinking about punk from a very small circle, around 1976-1979 and especially the pistols, but it isnt that was part of the seed, it encompasses the globe, over 3 decades, and theres still plenty of "punk" bands now both young and old, with the original spirit Yes but the world- and many original punks themselves- has become way more corporate and materialist. Look at the music industry today!
Lockjaw
Johnny Rotten advertising... butter? Iggy Pop advertising ....Insurance?? What next - Siouxie Sioux selling loans? Edit: John Cooper Clarke now does TV ad voiceovers for...McCain's chips!!?? Doh. I heard Johnny Rotten on Mark Radcliffe a year or so ago saying that the butter ads had funded his new album. whitehorses
I spent a happy hour last night watching the Pistols reunion concert from a few years ago, I still think Lydon has and had the right idea, he even laughs at himself, I think he's just glad to still be alive to be honest !!
