272 bus route day ticket?

Hi,

 

I'm planning on hopping around the peak district - hathersage, casteton and hope on the same day. Does anyone know...is it possible to buy a ticket that is valid all day on the 272 route, and if so, what's it called? That might be cheaper than single fairs.

 

Also, is it valid on the different companies that run buses on that route, or would I be stuck to only using the first buses?

Dunno if any First-specific tickets allow travel between South Yorks and Derbyshire other than the normal single/return fares.

FirstDay Peak Explorer tickets at £6.50 allow you to take as many journeys as you want but are for the 272 only and only for First (who run almost all the services).

On the timetable there is the following note:

 

 

Return tickets issued on the Hope Valley train service and bus service 272 between Sheffield, Hathersage, Bamford and Hope or Castleton are valid for return by either bus 272 or train (train tickets to/from Hope are valid from/to Castleton on the 272 bus, and bus tickets to/from Castleton are valid from/to Hope on the train). Return tickets issued on bus services 272, 273, 274 and 275 are valid for return on any of these buses

thanks all - very helpful. We kind of need to be on one of the non-First ones, so looks like best bet is a single, and then to get the first explorer group for the rest of our jaunting around and keep to first services.
