Why do you have to have a taxi, no idea really but as this is effectively 8 hours work and minimum 320 miles 80 x 4 and that is going snake/woodhead. Mileage much higher if motorway. I would be surprised if ANY CHANGE FROM £150 and probably more than that

Not a taxi like city taxis ... Private ones that are for airport transfers :/

Sorry I wasn't clearer.

why not use the train. They have an airport station now. Liverpool south parkway. A ticket there costs £5 each, each way and at 1 hour 37 minutes it is much faster that a taxi and a lot more comfortable.

Places like City taxi do airport transfers, I'm using them to Manchester and that's £65 which is a lot less than some of the privates, plus I wouldn't worry as if the driver is ill, there's lots of others to take it :D

I always go to Liverpool Airport by train, frequent service to South Parkway, and buses every 15/20 mins from there to the airport

We could take you to Liverpool Airport and back again for the cost of £170. We are a Sheffield Licensed Company and can promise you a 1st Class service. Tel 0114 2216517 for further details

£170 for a taxi or a tenner return on the train? It's a no brainer.

What about one-way car hire? £50 each way hire with europcar, plus (say) £20 petrol each way - £140 total.

Distance from Sheffield to London Heathrow is approx 170 miles and the fuel cost will be about £50. So not so cheap. Far better to be driven door to door in my opinion.
