Im not a Sheffielder but I am trying so hard to make this wonderful city my new home.

You Sheffielders are the most nicest people I have ever met, you are poilite and curteous and really welcoming.

I'm looking forward to the day I find a Council house exchange and move.

Obviously, there is quite a lot less to do than in London, and eating out is a bit disappointing, but after a year and a bit of living in Sheffield I could never move back to the capital.

The people up here are so much nicer, it's an easy city to live in, and it has proper pubs. I look forward to the nightlife improving, but I would hate it to become a "big" city - if I wanted to live in one of them, I'd move to Leeds, Manchester or London.

sometimes it can get you down but it is a great city beyonfd all the chavs.

I'd have to say that Sheffield has surprisingly few 'Chavs' for a population of it's size, probably because so many young people here are inspired to be more creative. The Shef yoofs I've encountered are quite a cerebral bunch, I'd have to say.

No disrespect teafan but Sheffield is the 4th biggest city in the UK , the nightlife is fantastic, and as for eating out we have some fantastic restaurants...and we don't have smog....And as for the countryside some of the best in the U.K. I would say it has far more going for it than Londinium.

And of course there are no finer folk than the good people of Sheffield

Sheffield is fantastic. The students would let you know it! A third of them choose to stay on in the city after graduating. That's one of the highest rates in the country. Not surprising either, this is by far one of the most friendly and green places i have ever lived.

I love Sheffield too, and often hear this quote but it makes me wonder why the population doesnt grow by about 15000 every year? Just as many non students must be pi$$ing off to other places to live, and why is this?

What happens is as the man said 'Negative Waves '

once you get this it spreads far

When I was young it was fabulous to live in Sheffield, but it was destroyed by Maggie and her gang

They could not stand a socialist regime (be it ever so small) showing to be successful.

So

Destroy Engineering

Destroy Steelmaking

Destroy Coal Mining

And you end up with what you have now.

New Labour

Bring Back The Republic
