mh01 Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Can anyone tell me what's happening to the High Greave? Went past this morning and the pub sign has been taken down:huh:supposedly been bought by a funeral director & being turned into a funeral parlour
AJ sheffield Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 supposedly been bought by a funeral director & being turned into a funeral parlour Still the same clientèle then.
mh01 Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Still the same clientèle then.at least the last clientele under the managership of jeannie & dave had respect for the place & the surrounding area when leaving the pub which cant be said for many other pubs & clubs these days.

Maybe the new lot will have even less of an impact.
mh01 Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 it was a great little pub, managed by a great couple who put so much time & effort into the place, with some great clientele, but sadly the greedy governments & breweries & management companies forced its closure along with many other community pubs & clubs
AJ sheffield Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Its been years since I went in there, I think the last time was a wedding do in the back. Nice pub though, shame its getting nailed.

Nice pub though, shame its getting nailed.it certainly was a nice little pub, one of the few to remain open in ecclesfield after the closure of three or four pubs/clubs in the area, to last as long as it did is credit to jeannie & dave for the amount of effort they put in & the way they treated their customers, uptil its closure there was a great little crowd going in, had some memorable nights in there over the last couple of year

mh01 Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 The one at the bottom of the road looks like its doing ok, opposite the cop shop.the travellers, it mainly does meals, i think uptil 9pm, the meals arent too bad & theyre reasonably priced, the place could do with a better cleaner though cos 9 times out of 10 your table is always sticky. since all the shiregreen mob stopped going in cos the pub was concentrating on meals, all the trouble has stopped, give it a try sometime, they have meal offers on constantly 2 for 1 etc
