1960's city centre shops

Recommended Posts

In the 1960s there used to be a barber’s shop on Church Street on the left going up possibly near where The Man Cave is now. Seem to recall the owner was possibly Italian.

Can anyone remember the name of the shop?

Thanks.

I need a list of shops (and other businesses such as bars, cafe's pubs) operating in and around the city centre in the 1960's. I can recall a department store called Cockaynes (spelling?) and Cole Bros, of course, and later in the 60's the boutique Sexy Rexy. Any details of shop names, type and location and anything of note about these places much appreciated.

Tramps ...sexy rexy ....and the one and only Harringtons where you had to climb a ladder to dressing rooms upstairs easy for nicking 😂😂😂😂
