Wait outside until he comes tomorrow then ask him what the he'll he's playing at. If you don't catch him, leave a notice outside saying, "Can the dog owner that keeps allowing his dog to defecate on my lawn please take responsibility for his dog?" - perhaps leave a couple of freezer bags too so he'll get the idea.
