dan2802
Its usually a waste of time (and money) repointing. The ridge tiles will need lifting off, cleaning up and rebedding if the mortar is falling out. Happy to quote.
per1
I agree with Dan. But bear in mind you will need scaffold for this type of job (usually on the side elevation ).Busy myself till middle of march. Good luck.
doom bringer
bear in mind if you get someone out on the cheap watch them work some guys will just use a paint brush and brush mortar over the old stuff to make it look done . like they say best to lift of clean and re bed them

retired
A good job is as said above, lift and re-bed. I have repointed ridges before but always used an angle grinder and removed a lot of the old mortar. Also I have used a modified mortar. Always lasted but thats down to the preparation. Avoid just a scrape and repoint, waste of money. I use P&J Belton on 2306037.

dan2802
Based on all the above ideas on prices for rebedding cheers Do you have a gable or a hipped roof? There is a world of difference as scaffold needed for a hip.
