Baldy67
Hi, please can someone advise me as to the best sites .I have looked at the pay type sites Eros Hi Eros, you can join and build your family tree on most sites for free, i find genesreunited the easiest to use and once you have built your tree it's quite easy to transfer it to other sites like ancestry.com, BUT like the others above said, before you pay for any info, try the free sites like: http://www.familysearch.org http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl http://www.sheffieldindexers.com http://www.sheffieldrecordsonline.org.uk Hope this helps. Rich@thecig
Hi, please can someone advise me as to the best sites where it would be possable to trace as much as possable of my past familys who lived in sheffield.I have looked at the pay type sites, but there are so many, i dont know which one is the best for me, as a pensoner i dont want to wast my money on the wrong site. it is difficult for me to get into offices as i live in Holland and although i was born in Sheffield before the last war, i am not aware that any of my known family is still living. Eros Hi Eros I would recommend an afternoon in the Sheffield Library. The staff there are really helpful always happy to help those looking for this sort of information. As a researcher I spend a couple of days a week down there (Wednesday is late opening till Eight) and would be happy to have a look through any records if you have some key dates.
