Justin Smith
Hasn’t risk been reduced due to the measures that have been taken or would we be happy returning to the 70’s when hijackings were common place. I`m pretty sure that even in the 70s it you would have been far far more likely, statistically speaking, to be killed in a car crash on the way to the airport, than blown up by a bomb on the plane, or, to be fair, killed by a plane accident. But did that make everyone go by train to the airport, or the Government make it compulsory to do so ? No.
Grandad.Malky
Not one woman we`ve mentioned this to is "fine" about the 50% possibility that it`s a man watching them in there. They are looking at a silhouette / xray image, what are the women’s worries and do men have the same worry about the chance of a women seeing their image. Bulgarian
what are the women’s worries probably that they will look fat if they said the scanner reduced cellulite they'd be in there like a shot.
Justin Smith
People just want to sensationalize, complain and moan about everything. Even when they don't have all the facts. There's about as much eroticism in the scanned images as there is in this: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/7581230/Pornographic-magazine-for-the-blind-launched.html I don`t think it`s necessarily about eroticism. Many people aren`t happy with their bodies and don`t want others to see them. I`m quite happy with mine (at the moment......) but even I don`t like the idea of someone else getting to see my meat and two veg whilst I`m stood like I would be going into a concentration camp. Interestingly, I`d rather it was a woman seeing my image than a man, but that`s nothing sexual, it`s more to do with the fact that since being born it was a woman, my mother, who saw me naked more naturally and often. Even now I`m more comfortable with female nurses seeing me naked than male ones. I think it`s a terrible inditement on modern society that we`re prepared to throw the baby out with the bath water. Make no mistake the terrorists have won here, and worse, most of the population are, apparently, not only prepared to accept it, many, going by the answers on this forum, are actually in favour of it..... I thought the British were a rebellious lot who didn`t like being pushed around (think Battle of Britain) ? I reckon some of those BofB pilots would be spinning in their graves...... Grandad.Malky
I Make no mistake the terrorists have won here, . Too right, I worked with someone that told his kids not to go to Meadowhall after the London bombings ………… the terrorists have truly won.
Bulgarian
I`m stood like I would be going into a concentration camp. over-react much ? Having a scan at an airport is like being marched to your death, not quite, calm down dear.
JFKvsNixon
So the nudatron is now is now up and running, it's still got some way to go until it's as effective as the one in the Airplane movie. I wonder in the OP has the same issues with people seeing his body in other situations such as when in hospital.
Grandad.Malky
probably that they will will look fat . You’re personalising it though and that’s not how it works, a image is flashed up for a few seconds on some remote screen and someone presses green or red for the operator of the scanner, as far as I could see the person viewing the scanned image wasn’t even in the local vicinity to match a person to a image. JFKvsNixon
I`m stood like I would be going into a concentration camp. You do understand that unlike the poor souls who were being lined up in the concentration camps you are there through choice. Lets hope that you are not pulled out for a full body cavity search, so you should try your best not to look too nervous.
Karis
except that's meant to be pornographic, the scans aren't My point was that neither are...
