What not even for what is basically an oil change and check / clean the brakes.

would you take a ferrari,porsche,rolls royce,bentley or similar to ANY garage some cars require specialist equipment to work on them and if its under warranty most warranties are invalidated if not serviced at dealer approved garages

im not saying the op has a specialist vehicle but some info might help with suggestions

why ?

take for example a vw golf 2000 onwards runs on long life oil and not all garages stock/use this as they buy 45 gallon drums to use for services

would you like a garage to use incorrect oil in your car and risk engine damage?

certain garages use the correct dealer stated spec oils but most buy bulk to save money

i know ive worked in the motor trade for over 15 yrs
