Crayfish   10 #9 Posted January 20, 2010 I'm not sure if you're talking about standard scents or the pheromone mixes peddled on the internet.  Regarding the pheromones, there are a small amount of scientific data to support these having a minor effect, but it's contentious. They would only confer a minor advantage in making an impression at best, and are more likely to be a waste of money (given the dubious nature of the industry I wouldn't trust them to contain the stated ingredients, for a start).  Pheromones aside, I'm sure that smelling good is important, but that's probably down to personal taste.
