Flippin eck, typical Wednesday fans bypassing the facts to make themselves look better..

Can't see too many fans liking Hillsborough, simply because of the disgrace that is the away end there - an absolute toilet. And it's not like the atmsphere from the home fans has been anything to write home about (regardless of how few/many fans are in the ground)... and you could say the same about the Lane atmosphere for much of last season.

You make it sound like they're visiting a museum, 'how football used to be'...

Bigger club, all subjective and depends who you talk to... better club (as in the stronger club now and not in the past, with more ambition and vision) is currently United by a distance... just as it was the Owls upto 1999ish, when the tide last turned...

Owls definitely have the bigger ground though, we'll give you that... :)

Leppings lane is a ****ehole. But the South and North look great from that end. The Kop especially looks really imposing, was surprised, went on leppings lane this summer and the Kop looked awesome. Kop would look well intimidating when its full, can't even see the back.

I'm not disputing United's finances are better than Wednesday, but most people outside Sheffield still see Wednesday as the bigger club and thats fair enough, since we had a long stint in the premiership and then since done nowt the championship and had a two year stint in the league one, whereas United have been in the championship for years, bar one stint in the premiership, so its not surprising that they still see Wednesday as this fallen 'giant' and United just the same as you always were - even thought its not like that at all, well it is, you've just upped your fanbase and got better finances, but still not a football team to go with it - not a dig.

From an away point of view, i confirm the away end is dated, and exit routes poor. the stand to our right is a shed behind the scenes, have been to a few reserve matchs and sat in there as well as the last but one derby.

As for the kop being full and intimidating , due to poor and many restricted views there are always to many empty seats. about four large areas. Intimidating ? perhaps when full and every one in full voice. How often is that?

I love it when wednesday fans say "people outside sheffield still see wednesday as the bigger club" what a load of rubbish. What is this statement based on? United are a bigger club than wednesday, thats obvious. Noone gives a toss about wednesday anymore. The crowds reflect that.

Of course they are looking forward to playing you they always look forward to playing the small teams and swamping the ground with geordies. Oh by the way your forgot to post this little snippet also taken off their board

"Preston have announced that they're going to turf their home fans out of the Kop and let the Newcastle fans use it so we'll get 6,000 tickets instead of the usual 3,000 they give away teams in a different stand. I think it would be a nice gesture if Sheffield Wednesday allowed us to use their Kop on Boxing Day as well"

Yeah massive lend them your kop

to be honest ,away fans come once a season , so its the home fans that should be looked after ,and any money spent on the ground should be concentrated on home fans areas

Mr Benn clutching at straws again, so what your saying is that only the home fans should be looked after, well have you thought of this scenario

Away fan comes to your ground says it is a hole and not going again

Away fan comes to your ground and says really enjoyed that good atmosphere and facilities will come back next year and bring the family, increased revenue - more money for club to be used on the team, supposed that has not crossed you little mind

What is a disgrace is that a ground that was considered one of the best stadiums in the country has been allowed to get into such a state. All those massive wages on non producing prima donnas and nothing on the stadium.

Mind you I have just been reading that the club are asking for volunteers to clean the seats etc, they must be in a right mess if they can't afford cleaning staff.

How can anyone take a man seriously who one minute promises a bigger wage bill and then asks for volunteer cleaners?

An interesting snippet from a Newcastle United website!

When asked which is the most exciting away game next season this is how they’ve voted:

Blackpool 16%

Plymouth 3%

Swansea 3%

Cardiff 4%

Bristol City 1%

Sheffield Wednesday 45%

Sheffield United 2%

Forest 5%

Derby 1%

Doncaster 3%

Barnsley 1%

Ipswich 3%

Boro 5%

Other 8%

Excluding each other, who would Wednesday and United vote for.

Probably Newcastle for me, then Blackpool!

Hardly surprising as they nailed you 8-0 in your last meeting and their now manager helped himself to 5 of the goals.

You lot really are an embarrassment to our great City.
