Anyone know where I can get driving lessons for a 16-year-old?

i does anyone know where you can get driving lessons locally for a 16 year old he will be 17 in march but would like to get him a couple of lessons early if poss they do this in other areas but cant find one in sheff or rotherham cheers

There is no where, they cant get a provisonal licence until there 17th birthday, i would get your forms and get the licence sent for and they will send it you before your sons birthday

There are places people can drive from the age of 12. You have to pay for the privelidge of course.

No, it's just called "on private land"

 

Alternatively it's called HM Forces (or have they changed that rule now)

The private land law only counts where no members of the public are allowed to drive.

If the young person in question has mobility difficulties then in some circumstances they can get their provisional licence at 16 rather than 17, but other than that you're stuck with waiting until he's old enough to get a provisional licence at 17 unless you can find someone who will take him on private land (you are unlikely to find a driving school which does this openly though as virtually all of them will only take you as a pupil once you have your provisional).

What about getting driving simulation course from the RAC? You don't have to be 17 or have a learner's licence.
