If it's a lot higher than the temperature elsewhere in the room, probably best not to mount there. A few degrees higher shouldn't harm the telly. I'd get a crick in my neck having to look up at it. My mate in Ecclesfield put his telly above the fire - went to all the trouble of smashing the wall out to hide the wires and everything.
