Ade65 Posted December 13, 2007 Share Posted December 13, 2007 Hi, Went there last night, was a bit undecided beforehand because of the mixed reviews the place has had; had a marvellous time - food wholesome and tasty, beer nice, vodkas good Only even slightly bad thing I could say was that the vodka in the slot marked as Polish 'normal' was in fact Russian Standard - which is an excellent vodka and, I'm sure even without trying the Polish that should have been there, better than what it replaced. Staff were very friendly and we had a lovely evening...will deffo go back again and would recommend others to give it a try based on my experience there. I thought it was things like stews ... th emost amusing thing I find about Polonium (I havent eaten there yet) is the polish guys who congregate sit about outside it at tables on the pavement drinking beer etc (is it licence for this?) to try and hopefully create a european cosmopolitan atmosphere on Abbeydale Rd - good luck to them I say ! Ade65 Posted December 16, 2007 Author Share Posted December 16, 2007 No, beetroot hasn't got much to do with the restaurant......I think someone was just trying to be 'funny' - the only dish I noticed beetroot in was the borscht, which I think is actually Ukrainian.
