Snook
Scientists have discovered a organic compound that is a colorless, volatile liquid with a mild odor, and acts primarily upon the central nervous system where it alters brain function, resulting in temporary changes in perception, mood, consciousness and behavior... would you drink it? It is slightly toxic, and when consumed in large amounts it has significant psychoactive effects. This liquid can also lead to malnutrition because it can alter digestion and metabolism of most nutrients. Muscle cramps, nausea, appetite loss, nerve disorders and depression are some common symptoms of use. It can also lead to osteoporosis and bone fractures due to vitamin D deficiency (Vitamin D helps in calcium absorption). It also stimulates insulin production which speeds up the glucose metabolism and can result in low blood sugar. The liquid also damages dendrites, the branched ends of nerve cells that bring messages into the cell. So, anyone up for some?

The side effects you mention are those of abuse, not responsible use.
