Lost property in black cab, who to contact

Hi, sorry if this is in the wrong place.

Basically I left my purse in a black cab last night, ive been looking online for a black cab company number but cant find any that arent private hire.

Anyone have the number of a black cab company?

Sounds awful but the chances of you finding your purse are very slim. Saying that you do sometimes get the odd honest person that will hand it in.

Chances are if you were his last 'job' of the night the purse could still be in his cab and he has not checked. But they are that many black cabs companies in Sheffield, you might have trouble finding out which one

have you tried west bar police station - black cabs (if run by council) are supposed to hand found items in there

yeah i'm not getting my hopes up. Rang a few companies and the station but no luck. Ah well, will just have to be more careful! Thanks anyway all.

does anyone know who i need to contact lost property in a black cab, my dad left his coat and keys on saturday night, we think, and i dont know how to find out if they were left in the taxi or not, can anybody help please.

I was told by the council a few years ago, when I stupidly left something in a black cab, that the drivers were told to hand any lost property to West Bar Police station. I guess it might be Snigg Hill now since I understand West Bar is no longer there.

I have just travelled in a black cab from Leopold Street to Gleadless Road and unfortunately left a couple of small presents from a friend in the taxi. I am struggling to find anyway to hopefully get these back. Apparently the black cabs are from all different companies. I would really like to get these back and feel really upset to have forgotten them. Can anyone advise how I might trace them ?

It may be an idea to go to one of the busy taxi ranks such as the station, tell them what happened, and ask them to pass word around. This is a relatively small group of people so hopefully your details will get to the correct driver.
