  1. Sorry not a forum regular so only just saw this. Been busy celebrating my Birthday. Your attempt at humour is to be admired! x
  2. Too right, why of why are people happy to moan and groan on a public forum but not make their feelings known at the time. Good for you Otto's for standing proud. I personally would love to come and have a meal at your restaurant. I always give feedback whether good or bad.
  3. Think open all day but closed on Monday. They used to have a meal deal on Tuesday's if you order before 7pm so that might be a good way to check the place out if they still do it. There's no website and I couldn't find telephone number. Can't imagine in this climate that they want to remain a secret though.
  4. How about another old romantic cuisine Persian. There's one on Abbeydale Road and there's a write up about it dated 24th Sept 09 http://www.sheffieldtelegraph.co.uk/foodguide/FOOD-REVIEW-Shiraz-Persian-Abbeydale.5674537.jp
  5. Not sure how useful it is but you might want to take a look at http://www.sheffieldnights.com/nights/
  6. There was two! You missed 'Take Me Out' which is one of their songs.
  7. Maybe one for just the grown ups but if you're in to the horror side of Halloween get yoursen to the Showroom for the Horror Festival 23rd - 25th October http://www.celluloidscreams.co.uk/
  8. I think it would be lovely for Xmas meal party. We hired the whole place once for 3 course dinner for around 30 of us, it was great!
  9. Have you sold them yet Sarah? It's my Birthday on Saturday and a friend is wanting to take me out Friday night so this could be just the ticket.
  10. You might like to try some tapas at Cubana's 34 Trippet Lane 0114 276 0475 on a Thursday where you get to listen to The Vernon Sisters play for free http://www.thevernonsisters.com/
  11. The one on Division Street is alright, can't think of another one nearer to Ponds Forge.
  12. I had lots of fun researching venues for our wedding but in the end went for outdoor hog roast and a party at the Harley Hotel rather than traditional sit down meal (not sure if they're brave enough to do it again). However, I did stay at Kenwood Hall to get ready for my wedding and many of our guest stayed there and loved it. The junior suite was lovely but lacked facilities like a fridge, and robes (which were brought when asked for). I also attended a wedding there and the BBQ in the evening was lovely and the grounds are just perfect for photo's. They do often have up to 3 weddings on at same time though. I got married at the Bandstand at Weston Park and details of my wedding can be found at http://www.hansleybeard.co.uk/weddings/sara_daves_wedding Channing Hall (Victorian splendor with spiral staircase) on Surrey Street is great for a reception on a budget but you do need to provide own caterers and drinks and you need approval from the Trustees of the Upper Chapel unless getting married in said Chapel first. I also know people who enjoyed their reception at the Ivory off West Street and I liked the look of Firth Hall at Sheffield University and also Cutlers Hall on Church Street both very grand indeed. Happy planning! PS: My wedding planner was ace Jennie Beard (website link above is hers)
  13. My Wedding Planner Jennie Beard has details of my wedding at the Bandstand at Weston Park on her website http://www.hansleybeard.co.uk/weddings/sara_daves_wedding
  14. Been busying doing my 5 posts so I could post website link. You will need to go via our gift store because the website has a rude word in it and can't be displayed on the forum (it's not offensive) So click on site and then copy and paste site that starts nevermind the wedding....... The pics are under wedding album. The site will be live until 7th August 2009. http://sara-dave.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=88
  15. Don't knock community spirit and pride...it's much better than the alternative even with the grammatical errors.
  16. Two Steps Sharrowvale has probably already been mentioned but that's my fave. Still to try new one, Joe's Chippy at bottom of Ecclesall Road which is now my nearest.
  17. By the way we had 100 plus guests who sat and stood outside the Bandstand. We had umbrellas on standby but Friday 10th July was a bright sunny day so there was only me carrying a parasol instead of the traditional bouquet.
  18. Tried to post link to some wedding pics at the bandstand but not used forum before and it did not like the address. And now it say's I have to make 5 posts first. If anyone wants me to email the link to you I will. Alison is very helpful with any requirements and it's reasonably priced. My wedding planner was Jennie Beard and she did an amazing job on our very small budget.
