I really don't understand these rises!! My insurance last year was £250; 10 yrs no claims, small car and small engine and it's gone up to £370!! Yet a friends' insurance on his fairly new, large 4wd has gone down to £200. Mind you, he does have a 'posher' postcode. Perhaps this is why!!?? I always thought that the larger the car, the bigger the insurance. Obviously not..

I was still at the bottom of Duke Street at 5.30pm, after being on the bus for an hour! I decided to get off and walk, took me 1hr 15 mins and got home at 7ish. Mad!!

What an awful situation - the winners will feel relieved, the losers will be de-motivated and yet all still have to work together and still provide a service to the public....

I think you've probably misread this one (as you've worded it anyway)!! They CAN'T make you work 14 hours a day for 7 days a week. It's my understanding that it means the standard working hours are between 6am to 8pm, rather than 8am to 6pm as it stands at the moment. In other words, you could start at 6am but finish at 2pm; although probably subject to service requirements of your service.

I thought they dealt with the 'smaller' issues, leaving the bobbies to get on with the bigger stuff. There's not enough of either of them if you ask me!!! I don't care if its a pcso or a copper, either would be welcome when you're in need of help.

I have an Elonex Exentia Media Centre PC, which doesn't seem to want to start-up. It gets to the Windows start-up screen then switches itself off. I've been told that it may need a new power supply or possibly an inverter, but to get it mended I'll need to send it to London for the repair. Is there an expert out there who could possibly mend it for me, without having to send it down south??
