Does anyone know about special needs schools
marie riley replied to marie riley's topic in Disability & Carers Group
hi all a new update i have been to look around some resource centres this week for help with my son who has autism. the 1st resource centre i went to was for children with bed behaviour which looked ok but when talking to the teacher i said it would be no good as my son would pick up on the behaviour of the other children it was a great resource centre though offerd plenty of help. The 2nd was a autism resource centre which teaches children and either helps them back into main stream or refers them to a special school this sounds great for my son who is struggling within mainstream it gives him that bit extra support he needs -
i have just had a ten pound christmas gift from dla for my son who is on dla and have been told in the letter that i get a gift for being a carer as well

If a child is a bully, who is responsible for that?
marie riley replied to espadrille's topic in General Discussions
i have a 12 year old who is at comp when he was younger if some one picked on him he didnt think twice about hitting out through help and support he now learns to control his temper and he has a special teacher at school where he can go and talk to them about anything he still gets picked on but it helps him to talk about it and get it off his chest he still gets bullied but he has learnt to sort it out him self by talking to his support teacher i only step in if it goes to far -

marie riley replied to marie riley's topic in Disability & Carers Group
hi all i have just found out from my sons school that the reason he cant stop in his main stream school is because of fundings and not enough staff to deal with children with autism so they are looking to try and remove them to special schools -
