  1. Cant believe anybody wants to go and listen to someone droning about places in Sheffield
  2. We aught to get a vigilante group together and go looking for these cretins, we could arm ourselves with size 14 slippers and thick bamboo canes, be nice to see their eyes fill up with tears of pain, they must be found! ( sorry I must have been watching too many Mossad documentaries)
  3. you have to make two visits, first for the post to be implanted and then the porcelain tooth at a later date, with the cheap air fares at the moment you make it a short break, nothing in this world is guaranteed, except death and income tax, they leave our over paid dentists in the dark. Its says something when a dentist a Charles Clifford tells me that there,s very few good dentists in this area of Sheffield, they can all drill, fill, and extract and that's about it, Just think if it all went well In Hungary you would have enough leftover for another even better holiday later
  4. Hi, does anyone remember him from the 1960s we used to hang about in the cafe on Holme lane, the one owned by an Arab called Musson. we were palls for a long time but drifted apart when work and girls came along, his last address I new was in the prefabs at Stanwood Stannington, Hope someone can point me in the right direction
  5. There are certain teachers who I would physically assault if I ever met them today, no matter how old or infirm they are, don,t forget that they assaulted us when we were vulnerable! and number one is the so called killer Holmes, what a complete ass hole, he used to beat you for no reason at all, except for his own perverted enjoyment. one wonders why some off us did not make progress at school and such as he were the reason, he and such like him should be ashamed of them selves, if they were teaching today, they would been prosecuted long ago. This cretin so-called taught at Wisewood school back in the 60s.
  6. the best place for an implant is Hungary, their clinics and facilities are superb, not to mention their dental surgeons, you can view their clinics online. they will even do a bone cultivation if needed, the last time I looked at the prices they were approx £500 per implant
  7. Hi, does anyone know where i can get some wood tongue and grooved thanks
  8. Hi, Stanedge lodge and Fairthorn lodge are two different buildings, but share part of the same drive way, an old friend of mine bought it from the water board in I think the 1980's, Im led to believe he paid £55k and I think it has 15 bedrooms or rooms, anyway, a big house for the money, it needed alot of work doing to it, which I don't think he ever completed. He used to hold clay pidgeon shoots their, but there was a problem with planning, so he had to stop, and had to let the property go, as far as I am aware, he still lives nearby in a water board house. An old friend of mine, a local historian told me the lodge belonged to a Sheffield Steel Magnet at one time and a large coach and horses used to collect the servants on a evening and take them back to Sheffield, but one night, the coach man had been drinking in the Grouse and Trout before he collected the staff, he was very drunk and set off down the track from the house, he couldn't stop, and drove staight into the old dam at the bottom of the lane, all were drowned, The Lodge owner had the pub pulled down immediately, the pub sign is still their, leaning against the wall on the left, before you get to the dam, hope this helps. Regards Brian
  9. . Spent £33 on a takeaway and never even got a popadom as a good will gesture
  10. I grew up with the Ronksleys from the 1960s, in Hillsbro, They did a swap with Dyson family who lived on Hunter road, Ronksleys lived in Wisewood at the time, there was Jack and Vera and 3 sons, John, Philip who lives in Barnsley and Trevor, who I'm sure I've seen working in job lot on Barnsley road, they bought a dairy on the outskirts of Barnsley, Either Rhyhill of Thurnscoe area, the business seemed to take off all at once, they bought the first mini van ice cream vans, the had an old chap called Bill Earnshaw that worked for them, what a caracter, he was involved in a mine accident, a ganister mine near the Robin Hood at little Matlock, he had every rib broke and his arms and legs, he had loads of scars on his face, mainly from arguing with his wfe, (they lived in Dungworth), I could tell u a lot more if your interested. Bill also worked at Johnny Woods rolling mill and Jack Ronksleys was a roller there.

  13. The sportsman can only open 4 days a week now, I've never heard of that before, something to do with the licence, sounds like it's on that slippery slope to me
