  1. It is - people should have a right to their opinion, whether or not everybody else agrees with it.
  2. Impressive, perhaps. 8th wonder of the world? Get real.
  3. This topic invariably descends into exchanges based on emotive outbursts. Seals pups have fur and big eyes – so they appeal to people’s nurturing instincts. Ater all, we like kittens and puppies, and those big seal pup eyes are so, well, human, aren’t they? However, seals are not human, and they’re not domestic pedigree puppies. They’re just a sea mammal which, at times, breeds rather successfully and needs culling. Try to forget the big cute eyes and remember that they have big pointy teeth as well, which are damned good at thinning fish stocks. It obviously looks dramatic because blood shows up against a brilliant white frozen background, but it’s hardly worse than what takes place in our own abattoirs – but then, I suppose many of the complainers avoid veal as well – their loss.
  4. He contributed more to the world than the odd pop song - which is about the best that the rest of the list could manage.
  5. An impressive list - of lefty wasters with the exception of Einstein.
  6. The question referred specifically to "left" ("as in liberal", but what does that mean to a realist??). Any fool can have liberal ideals - they just equate to weakness and ineffectiveness. There are 2 political axes. Left/right, and control/freedom. Liberalism is just a woolly-headed state of mind.
  7. It's a total Khasi. The only good thing about Scunthorpe is the way it lends itself to adjustment of motorway signs.
  8. No, it's not dangerous. All kettles have thermal cutouts. It's just a bit sad that some people will actually keep their kettles almost empty to save about a pound a year and sod all from the greenhouse gas buildup.
  9. I was in a bar in the States with friends when a 54 year old was asked to provide ID to prove he was over 21 when buying a round. "Sorry Sir, state law". Bless 'em.
  10. Yes. Tax and spend. Tear the wallets out of the middle classes. Freeze tax threshholds to catch more victims. Coerce educational establishments to take on more lower-classes irrespective of ability at the expense of middle class kids with talent. Force public sector employers to take on ethnic minorities over white people irrespective of suitability for the job. Yes, that all seems a bit on the left side of left to me.

Don't get me wrong - if people work (with suitably valuable skills to offer), are loyal to the Crown and embrace every aspect of what we expect of them, let them in. On the whole though, you have to look to the white, English-speaking nations to find those qualities. The rest come here just for a free ride, come here and fail to integrate, or are not of sufficient intellectual calibre to be of use.
  12. It's certainly no more left-wing than our government, to the extent that my Kiwi friends find it to be less looney left than the nonsense we are suffering at the hands of our current government.

  14. So are French, and most Europeans, but while they are mostly good and worthy people I did not include them. The countries mentioned speak English. And understand our morals. And agree with the wars we find ourselves embroiled in. And integrate into our communities. Your thinly veiled accusations of racism betray your own limitations and your requirement to shout 'racist' whenever somebody offends your politically correct sensibilities. Do you suggest that my stated preference is racist because I prefer to share a country with people whose beliefs and activities comply with the norms that I have become used to, as did my parents and theirs? Is it racist to want a harmonious society where people share ideals, share love of their heritage, share loyalty to their state? If it is, then I must be a racist.
