  1. Hello everyone, One of my roof tiles has slipped down in the Lane Top (S5) area of Sheffield. Does anyone know someone that could put it back in place for me for a small consideration? Only a small 15minute job according to a neighbour Many thanks Paul
  2. I rang Virgin Media a couple of days ago but they were a little vague to be honest as the system they use is not theirs but another providers! So they couldn't really tell me anything! As I say it was fine untill about three weeks ago and it goes from very poor to no mobile and internet data at all!
  3. Our mobile and data conection has been more or less non existant at Sheff Lane Top over the last 3 or so weeks, anyone any idea what is happening! Walk five minutes down the road and it's fine. Mine and my wifes HTCs on Virgin and my daughters Iphones on TMobile are all the same!
  4. Hey Thanks Hilsbro, that's really great thank you!
  5. Hello everyone Does anyone remember Lynne Whitehead? She went to Herries school and left in around 1983. She lived on Herries road directly across from the Five Arches pub and would be about 43. many Thanks
  6. Another incident at 02.50am this morning. A white flat back van obviously stolen and burnt out on the junction of Foremark Road/Dial Way! Fire Brigade in attendance!
  7. Thanks Tom, I've done the same and nothing! There has been alot of anti social behaviour and burglaries around this area lately.
  8. Reading some of the previous hilarious posts....I rest my case!!
  9. Gosh, it's because of the "keyboard comedians" I rarely post anything on here now. They just spoil this forum!!
  10. I live very close to Padley Way so I would appriciate any news on this (without the stupid comments please) There a few different stories/rumours around.
  11. My elderly parents have had three different "tenants" living next door to them over the years. Finally after the last so called "people" moved out we got onto our local councillor who kindly sent a letter to the housing department asking for a "sensitive letting" which worked and a nice south african family moved in.
  12. There's no glossing over this, if it's a three bedroomed house as you state. It will most likely be a priority mover/homeless family, so fear the worst.
  13. It is impossible to drive too fast around Firth Park shopping center as there are 9 crossings, not to mention the one way system, speed bumps, traffic calming system and endless traffic!
  14. As always it's a small minority of "people" that ruin these areas. And the authorities seem powerless to do anything about them!!
  15. Decent areas in sheffield, is such a sweeping statement! Maybe the question should have been "Is there any decent roads to live on in Sheffield?!
  16. And they'll be No threads about persons from any city not being the brightest!!! Enough said!!
  17. I use the 75/76 bus which stops at Fir Vale shops. There are always cars parked bang outside these take aways, sometimes with there hazzard lights flashing. The buses have to stop in the middle of a very busy road to pick up the passengers. I've seen many people with prams and wheelchairs really struggle to get on and off the bus. I have to say I have traveled on the 75/76 to and from work for nearly 20 years and rarely (once or twice) seen a traffic warden!
  18. It was our first blue box and blue wheelie bin collection today after the change. So we put our quarter fulled blue wheelie bin and our over flowing blue box out on the road. And guess what IT WASN'T COLLECTED!!!!!!! I rang Veolia and after the call taker checked she told me the binmen had marked them as collected!! So these are going to be left out all weekend and it's going to be Monday when (if) these are collected. Apart from this being a ridiculous idea it doesn't encourage people to recycle and comply with these stupid boxes!
  19. I'm affaid some people can't be reasoned with and this man some like one of those people!
  20. Even better idea: Round up all the chavs, benefit cheats, drunks, junkies, drug dealers, nuisance neighbours etc etc. Take them to a purpuse built facility on a far away island and let the army use it for target practice!! Just think of the extra space everyone else would have!!
  21. If he's the kind of neighbour you discribe, take what he says with a pinch of salt and find out what the council said for yourself. They sound really childish but they are plenty of these sorts of people about so you have my deepest sympathy.
  22. You may find what you are looking for at http://www.sia.homeoffice.gov.uk The SIA is one the quangos the Con-Dem goverement are "looking at" and in my opionion wants scrapping as it is less than useless. It seems to be nothing more than a money making scheme. The examination is almost impossible to fail and requires no intelligence or the ability to read, speak or write English.
  23. I have spoken to a 76 driver and apart from him saying it was utter chaos this route has been change to compete with the Stagecoach's 88 service. Stagecoach, incidentally is a pound cheaper on a simualar journey.
