  1. Another disgruntled Graysons purchaser here - I had been looking forward to trying it out but won't be doing so now. It's very convenient to blame Groupon but surely when you enter into a contract with these people you need to be very specific about how many vouchers you can afford to sell? If Graysons is serious about apologising to Groupon purchasers surely a gesture e.g. a free drink to those who book & bring along their useless Groupon vouchers?
  2. Had the same experience last week in one of their establishments; extra bottle of wine added on to the bill, taken off without any discussion (or apology).
  3. Well it's hardly experimental is it? Catch was its previous incarnation. I see there was a piece about it in the Telegraph : "Richard Smith promises it will be "a fish market, with a nod to the seaside", serving a mix of great chippy-style food and daily seafood specials - with prices to match"
  4. Phoned tonight to book a table at Canteen next week to be told it is closing down for a bit and being reincarnated as...Catch!
  5. Drove past it today; boarding taken down, loking pretty much finished inside and out. Looking forward to trying it out soon.
  6. Our 2 year old boxer has had this twice - both times it happened in February, so can only assume it is something she is coming into contact with that starts growing at that time of the year. She has needed steroid injections and tablets, so I made sure I got extra tablets to keep in the cupboard for next February!
  7. Another vote for the Old Vicarage, but you're unlikely to get a table for next Friday! Agree that Morans and Rafters are both great, but you may well run into the same difficulty getting a table at either of them. I recently booked a table at Morans on Fri March 20th and we were the 5th booking they had taken for that night. What credit crunch??
  8. We took our kids to Loch Fyne last Saturday at 6pm; they were the only children in there but that was fine, it was about a third full and very relaxed. There is a kids menu at £6 for smaller portions of some dishes plus ice cream; my 5 year old enjoyed haddock goujons and chips, while the 8 year old moaned about only having a kids portion but got a huge bowl of moules and was more than happy. We enjoyed our food too, not cheap but good quality ingredients. They serve food most of the day I think, including weekend breakfasts. On the basis of our first visit I think Loch Fyne will be a welcome addition to the restaurant scene in Sheffield
  9. Baldwins of course! It's cheesy no more so than any other xmas do. The food is a lot better than your average chain hotel, you can boogie till 1am, it's a great party night out
  10. We have only lived in Sheffield a year and usually eat out in S10 & 11 so aren't up to speed with city centre eateries yet. Can anyone recommend a good place for a pre theatre meal, i.e. open early enough for 2 courses and no more than a leisurely stroll from the Lyceum?
