  1. :loopy: prinny royal is run by bullies, landlord an landlady are thugs, an nasty people, even police kno this to be correct, they dont deserve custom.

I beg to differ - sounds like you've got personal issues here. Although Mitch, the landlord, can be a bit abrasive at times he's a nice bloke. We were in there last night - it was quite busy, we've never had any trouble there.

ps: think your views are a bit libellous and you ought to be careful:suspect:

  2. Last meal we had there wasn't too good - about a year ago. Also you have to be careful to check the bill. The first time we went we noticed that it hadn't been added up correctly. I mentioned this to a workmate who mentioned that she was going and coincidentally the same thing happened to her. Beware!

  3. We might do! We booked with Thomas Cook and we're staying at the Blau Varadero, not sure how far apart they are. Guessing you're flying from Manchester at 9.30am? I'll be the one getting changed on the plane into my chavvy tracksuit, eye-mask and slipper socks so I can lounge around and sleep through the flight, and my boyfriend will be the one chewing his way through 20 packs of nicorette gum!! :hihi:

Not long now GoGo dancer.

  4. Think that "eyesore" is quite a strong word to use. Perhaps it is quite large but did the people who are now complaining make their feelings known when he plans were available in the early days of their application?

Station Road/Furnace Lane is a major danger trap and why we haven't had speed bumps put there I can't think why.

I am pleased that the old folks have someone where they can feel safe in their own little community and who knows one of us could end up there eventually.

  5. I used to work as a legal secretary typing up wills. No executors don't have to see the Will but it would be courteous to ask them first. Beward of using your solicitor as one of the executors as they will charge for this priviledge.

I disagree with the remark that you should discuss it with executors when drawing up the Will - you may be challenged about your wishes and end up compromising yourself

  6. Press release from PTE website:

Santa Claus is coming to town by bus

For the first time in 15 years, buses are operating on selected routes in Sheffield on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

On these days, single journeys are only £1 – wherever you go!

To be honest feel sorry for the bus drivers but then again I'm not someone who depends on public transport. At least I think we ought to give a big  to the drivers and a big THAN2 YOU:clap:

  7. Hi, me and my boyfriend have just booked a holiday to Varadero in March aswell (flying out on Friday 13th!). There are some excursions and prices on the Thomas Cook website, I think if you do a search for Varadero on their website, there is a link on there, I have seen it somewhere!

I think we're going to go for the catamaran trip to the Cayo's and maybe a day trip into Havana, I think the catamaran was about £50 and the day trip to Havana was around £85-90, not sure how much the prices differ with local companies once you get out there, but it should give you a rough idea.

Alternatively, have a look on the Trip Advisor website, there are some great feedback forums on there and you might be able to find some useful tips on who to go with.

18 weeks to go, I can't wait!! And congrats on your anniversary aswell!

Thank you. We to are going on Friday 13th booked with First Choice now part of TUI, staying at Varadero at the Paradiso. C u there:thumbsup:

  8. Great news for anyone who lives in the Handsworth/Woodhouse area. From Monday 27.10.08 we will have a new x52 service. This service replaces the 552 and we will now have buses in the morning leaving Woodhouse every 15 mins from 7.15 - 8.30 and in the evenings every 15 mins, I get on at the Childrens and it'll be from 4.30 and 5.30 from there although I think it starts at Ranmoor.

  9. Out of interest I wonder how many bashing the programme are the ones who could do with being on it. To be fair if you want to be unhealthy thats your own problem. But there are people out there who want the help and want to learn how to cook better for their children. So while your brandishing your sword think about the children that will get a better diet out of the project. This will be be benficial to them long term and probably help a lot of other problems. Concentration as well as obesity and a lot of special needs problems have been helped by a better diet. Just because some of you think you are above such a scheme dosent mean it cant help others. There has already been a massive turn around in the two first women in the show. The most appaling thing is there isnt something already in place to offer this to familys who need it.

Well from my point of view me and hubby have allotment, I haven't bought any veg for ages, make all my own jam. When I'm off work I cook everything from scratch and try and put stuff in the freezer for tea after a day at work. I never buy ready meals as such only the occasional meat pie or quiche but I think i can be let off for that:thumbsup:

  10. I can't stand this programme, what a set up from start to finish. Jamie sat on top of a hill looking across Rotherham, Jamie sat at the side of a road in contemplation at how he can turn the people of Rotherham's diet around - how patronising.

I live in Sheffield and the word has definitely not got to my neck of the woods even though I'm at the edge of Rotherham - how many of you have had it passed on?

When I got married at 21 years and didn't know how to cook I went to M&S got a basic cook book and got started from that - if you want to do it you don't need Jamie Oliver's encouragement.

To be honest now that filmings finished I wonder how many of his recruits are still cooking or are back on the crisps. Also that gobby woman with the blond hair really gets on my wires - she's definitely only there for the cameras.

    Sorry, rant over!

  11. They can be, dependant on what type of lifestyle you feel you need to give them to feel like your a 'good' parent, but love, care, morals, etc don't cost a penny.

My grandmother brought ten kids up pretty much on her own, worked three jobs to do so, true they might not have had holidays abroad or wished to get up to the eyes in debt so the neighbours would think they were better than them, but back then the neighbours didn't have much either, but they had what mattered, the free stuff.

I think you're being a bit naive here. Love, care, morals certainly don't cost anything. However, mortages, shoes, clothes, food, utility bills do and the bigger the family the more money you need.

  12. does that make it ok then, you can be as opinionated and abusive towards people as you like, even with no basis of fact, as long as you can blame it on what you've read/assumed?

    Wow.

Yes, I am allowed to have an opinion - democracy and all that!

Abusive: where in all of my posts have I been abusive?

Unfortunately I do have strong opinions about this type of thing and yes it will upset some people, especially those in similar positions.

Surely opinions are what forums are about!:suspect:
