  1. Pleased it isn't mole-related/melanoma. If you think it is improving, I'd be tempted to bat it out and hope/encourage further improvement in the next two months. I have been well-satisfied at RHH (Dermatology) in particular with Andrew Messenger and I'd be tempted to wait BUT if you want to pay, that is your choice - I'm all for paying if it is urgent/beneficial. Not sure about this, but won't the same (private) cream be available to the NHS?

Hope you can get it resolved for her, one way or another.

Dr Messenger also treats kids at the children's and I can tell you he is an excellent Dr accompanied by fantastic support staff. save your money. The NHS now have an 18 week wait policy and to be honest the date you've been given for treatment at the RHH isn't that bad.

  2. There are tons of hotels and B&Bs to choose from if you google Stratford-upon-Avon. Although it is busy season so a lot of places might be booked up... :suspect:

The Alveston Manor, The Shakespeare, The White Swan and The Stratford Victoria are nice and all fairly central. :)

Yes I know there's loads but prefer to go with personal recommendation but thanks for replying

  3. Basically, I went away last week and had a little too much fun. As a result I now only have just over £5 to last me till a week on monday. Oops!

As I live on my own, I tend to buy stuff and and freeze it into individual portions until I need it so I have a fair bit in the freezer. But I am limited in both time and imagination (I've work just over 30hrs and had about 8 hours sleep since thursday morning) and so need some help.

    I have

Meat - chicken fillets, mince, turkey steak, sausages, tinned tuna

Veg - spinach, kidney beans, lentils, onions, mushrooms, garlic, a variety of frozen herbs and about 20 cans of chopped tomatoes(the basis of most sauces I make)

Plus rice and pasta, some questionable looking oven chips, a little bit of couscous, red pepper pesto and some sundried tomato and basil marind-y thing.

So can anyone help me come up with some ideas to feed myself over the next week?

    Would be eternally grateful...

Make a bit pot of tomatoe sauce: onions, garlic, sundried toms, mushrooms, tomatoe ketchup or puree, spoon of balsamic vinegar if you've got some, 3 times tomatoes. Make sauce as if making a bolog sauce but without mince. Refrigerate: use sauce to make base for chilli, bol, curry, meatballs using the sausages and add spices/herbs as appropriate.

Could easily feed you for a week using that lot just adding staples such as rice, pasta, potatoes. Enjoy

  4. We're going in September for the 6th time. Playa Blanca is lovely and we're planning a visit there. We're also planning a boat trip to Fuetuventura apparently the Blue Delphin in the PdC harbour goes there. Go to Mirador del Rio, there's also some caves at the Teguise end of the island. The cactus garden is good. The Sunday market at Teguise is good, gets packed though and be careful of pickpockets.

Have a great time and save some sun for me!

  5. sorry i dint mean every single young person in woodhouse, i should have said one family and there network of friends

As a Woodhouse resident for 20 years, completely agree with you there. Unfortunately this is not a problem just in Woodhouse but obviously its one thats bad for you and your family. Good luck!

  6. Not read all the posts on this one but why is it that when people such as this are in financial hardship they can still decide to conceive another child? To be honest if I had money worries like this the last thing I would want to do is add another mouth to feed to add to the problems.

From reading the Star report they'd had money difficulties before - why don't these people ever learn? Trouble is I feel sorry for the kids being put through it and having such bad role models to learn from. I've no sympathy for the parents but feel sad about the future their kids will probably have.

  7. I pickled some last year and they're really nice if you like pickled gerkins you'd like courgettes done like this. Just slice into chunky pieces and put into clean jam jar. Last year I covered with malt vinegar but that was a bit strong so this year I'm going to try white vinegar on (which I used with good results on cooked beetroot)

  8. they definitely continue fruiting, but I guess the plants could be weakened though - perhaps they need a feed - what compost did you use in the baskets? I've also heard that strawberry plants perform best between 1-3 years and then after that their fruit production declines (so they need replacing). Any container / basket brings its own issues with watering and it can be tricky to ensure that they have just enough, but not too much.

Definitely don't get weaked. We started off with 3 plants and now have a large patch entirely from runners. Got absolutely loads this year.
