I'll be visiting Comox which I believe is on VC island. Is that anywhere near you? My mate from Sheffield moved there last year so there's a small gaggle of you buidling up.

I've never heard of one so couldn't help. But my colleague informs me it is bits of cars spread about on tables, where they try and sell you bits of fridges as 1937 Austin Morris parts. The largest one near here is at Newark fairground, he's never heard of any near here.

I heard they were going to turn it into an apart-hotel whatever they are but local people protested due to the lack of parking spaces. Since then nothing. It is now an eyesore and even pulling it down and grassing the area over would be a vast improvement on what's there. Does anyone even know who owns it? or whether it is listed? For further clarification I mean the burnt out shell that used to be a church then a youth centre, then a fire, now a nothing surrounded by scaffolding and sand bags.

You're right but it has been a while but last time was enough to put me (and most other people) off for life. Similar vibe or lack thereof to The Devonshire Cat, awful places.

If the Dram Shop or Beer Stop are off licences then I'd not be sitting there to "appreciate it" like I have done in the Fat Cat.

I have recently bought some gluten free beer called Amber from Spain via a company named Nature's Maid. I do not believe there are any stockists of this product in Sheffield but it is by far and away the nicest gluten free lager I have tried (I've tried a few) and I'm hoping to get some pub/restaurant or shop to give it a trial at selling the stuff. I have no vested interested I just want to be able to get some nice lager (it tastes as good if not better than many wheat based products) at a reasonable price, without having to always buy a box of 24. Not a karaoke bar as such but the Red House Chinese Restaurant (or something like that) just off the Moor is a chinese restaurant with at least 2 rooms upstairs with vid screens, a couple of wiirelesss mikes and a big selection of songs. You get waiter service in there too. Tis good.

It's really the ability to turn the TV off that I'm looking for.

the fact that my friend lives here and she wants to find one of those old school foam bricks that you throw at the TV and it turns it off. I've searched the internet to no avail. Anyone still got one? know where I might get one, anything? This is desperate but hey ho.
