  1. You're fab. Thanks I've got so much to do! Just started another blanket whilst I pondered what on earth to do about that silly cluster!
  2. Every thread ends up as begging for help!! This time I need to find out how to do a cluster stitch. The pattern says "place hook under yarn, insert hook through top of next stitch and draw a loop through - 3 times" Now I realise its pretty easy but I just can't do it! Anyone know of a video for it? I've googled but can't find anything Thank you soo much :D
  3. Ignore me. I've found it by the power of google now I've spelt it correctly
  4. Can you tell me where I can find Winghams? I have been told but my mind is a little like a sieve! Thanks
  5. Thank you. Did forget to mention that it was crochet! I'm so unbelievably stuck- was shown it this afternoon and it looked simple enough until I tried it...
  6. I'm having so many problems with these. Have been desperately trying to create a scarf using them but its looks more like a load of knots rather than a nice structured pattern! Can anyone help? Clear instructions really welcome!! Thanks
  7. I would assume so. I'm not around much in the day but it does seem to be fairly quiet in the evenings. Except Saturdays
  8. The one opposite the plaza isn't too bad in the evening. There are a lot more street parking places in the evening which eases things.
  9. Yup they are indeed a beautiful piece of automotive engineering. Just not suited to Sheffield roads
  10. I'll agree with the roads. It must be especially bad for you in a Chim! I've lost count of the number of times I've had to have the tracking realigned!
  11. I'd personally like to see it a bit quiter Only so many nights you can cope with being woken up every 10 mins by people screaming and generally making a nuisance of themselves. But hey ho I suppose its all part of living in the city centre. Just wish people would be just that little more aware of their surroundings.
  12. I can'y wait for it all to start again Jeez I feel like I've aged 30 years since moving and have turned into a whinging old person!!
  13. I currently live in the city centre and quite fancy a change to somewhere a little quieter and greener. That and I'm sick of the begging going on and feeling like a prisoner in my own house. I've been out to Dore and really like the area - which other areas are a bit like Dore, but maybe not quite so expensive! Thanks
  14. We watched someone break a bottle over someone elses head (couldn't do much being this high up) Lovely people - can't wait until 3am when the Ingerrland songs will be broken out.
  15. I moved here from London a year ago and have to say I never encounterd the same problems in London that I've had here. West Street is truely an awful place to live. After about 6pm I can't go out on my own as the problem with drug addicts and general down and outs is disgraceful. Since I've moved in I've been followed home by a drug addict, been screamed at repeatedly and threatened by these nasty people, and have been made to feel in fear of my own life. I feel trapped in my own home. This isn't the same Sheffield that everyone raved about - tbh I'd love to move out and never come back but that is just not an option. West Street/Devonshire Quarter has the potential to be a lovely cosmopolitan area to live in - perfect for young professionals and many many others. It just needs to be taken by the scruff of the neck and pulled up to an acceptable standard. I do have a fair amount of sympathy for these people - but not when they start verbally abusing people just going about their daily business. I walked to Tescos for milk the other day - and got stopped 5 times (oh yes..) by people begging for money. All of them were rude and abusive and quite threatening. As far as I can tell the police don't give a monkeys. I keep reporting things and nothing gets done. One night I watched someone vomit on the street NEXT to a police horse and the mounties just moved away because it smelt.... Now I'm sure I'm going to be flamed for this, but the attitude towards policing up here is about as effective as a third world. Granted I come from the South - but I've never seen the police doing a particularly good job up here. City ambassadors are all well and good but can they actually do anything? And yes, I've met the infamous Gemma, atleast twice a day for months and months and months. She is a complete nightmare, and as much as i just love her I do object to being called a f***ing sl*g on a daily basis. I wont give them money as its blatently obvious where it will go (drugs and drink) and it wont help anyone. Gee I'd love to have the amount of disposable income that they have! Surely something more proactive can be done.
