  1. My dad, Keith Grundy, worked in the pyrometer department until about 1966ish. He wore a brown overall. For my sins, I worked there during my 6 weeks holiday from school as a general dogsbody. I drank with the men in a pub across the road and generally had a whale of a time. He left to be a professional musician, changed his name to Keith Peters, and led his band until he died in 2021.
  2. We moved from Crowder Avenue to 2 Gervase Avenue on Lowedges round about 1956 ish. We then moved to 122 Gervase Avenue round about 1962 ish for a couple of years before moving to the Batemoor estate.
  3. I left in 1967. My good friends at the time were Chris Gilbert, (who lived in Coal Aston) Graham Cadman, Phil Goddard and Max Brooks (who often came to my house to play blues on his guitar). My teacher, for the second year running, was Mr Prior. I enjoyed him reading to us……
  4. This wallet was handed in by the driver. Thank you to her. Thank you also to the passenger who handed it to the driver. I am truly grateful.
  5. I feel such a fool but today I travelled from Totley on the 97 bus and I lost my wallet. It must have slipped out of my pocket. I caught the bus at 10.54 and got off at Arundel Gate. It was a lady driver. The wallet had my bus pass, debit card, some store cards and my driving licence, obviously with my name and address. I have stopped the bank card and ordered a new one. The loss of the bus pass is such a big thing. I am partially sighted and rely such a lot on it. Please if you know anything, please help me be reunited with my property. The Lost Property office was mainly unmanned so unable to help.
  6. My Dad used to live next door to Nether Edge Hall in a terraced house owned by Snook. He was Keith Grundy then but became known as Keith Peters. In the late 1960s I was encouraged to sing in the interval when the rest of the band took a break. I sang, and played my red electric guitar, lots of the music I was into in those days. Beatles songs were my forte. I played 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps',' Maxwell's Silver Hammer', 'Michelle', 'Here, There and Everywhere', 'Why Don't We Do It In The Road' (LOL). Dad always did the arrangements and it was a great experience for me as almost a musician, but not quite. Lovely memories for a shy young boy. Sadly, he is now passed, but his legacy lives on. Monthly concerts at the Farm Road Social Club.
