  1. I'm an experienced guitarist who regularly plays and listens to that style. I'm quite busy with my main band at the moment (so depending on the level of committment required I may not have enough spare time for another project) but I'd willing to have a jam sometime...
  2. Sheffield-based Metal band looking for second guitarist (lead & rhythm) and bassist. Open-minded about stylistic influences (recent songs I've written have folk and neo-classical elements), but at its core it's a traditional, melodic heavy metal band. Must be able to practice once a week and (preferably) be a fast learner. I already have a drummer interested; the plan is to get working on original material ASAP, even without a full line-up. There are some rough videos of me playing guitar on my youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsvNrinkxJk Email me if you are interested: [email protected]
  3. EDIT: Nevermind. Found a jam night at local pub instead
  4. I might not be what you're looking for, coming from more of a rock background, but I've always liked smooth jazz (I'm a big Larry Carlton fan), funk, fusion as well and wanted to play in that sort of a band too. The last few years I've been working on my improvisational abilties, trying to jam with people as much as possible. Either way, I'm always up for a jam sesh with anyone who is interested. 5. I listened to a fair bit of metal as a teenager... I've always kept an open mind when it comes to music and you'll find some great metal albums out there if you're willing to give it a chance. These days if I listen to metal it'll be old school metal/NWOBHM: Iron Maiden, UFO, Thin Lizzy, Tygers of Pan Tang, etc...
  6. I'm a musician with 12 years experience just starting to offer guitar lessons as an extra way to make ends meet. I charge £10 for an hour lesson, £5 for a half hour lesson. I can travel to your house or you can learn at my house (I've got a collection guitars and amps you can use if that's easier) in the S10 area. Parents are more than welcome to sit in on lessons. What I can teach: - A thorough knowledge of scales, modes and music theory. - How to learn your favourite songs by ear. - How to improvise. - How to sight read. - How to develop your technique and play faster and cleaner. - A range of techniques than will improve your muscianship (finger tapping, sweep picking, hybrid picking and more). - Grades 1 - 8 in the Rock School and Trinity syllabi. - Pieces in the following styles: rock, blues, jazz, classical, metal, shred, country, pop, punk and just about anything else you can think of. Search for 'Richard Lidster' on youtube for videos of me playing if you're interested (I'm not allowed to post links until I've made 5 posts). Contact: 0754 266 7040 Email: [email protected] - Thanks, Richard Lidster.
  7. I'm a guitarist and a fan of that genre of music, I'd definitely be up for joining. I'm not allowed to post links yet but search for Richard Lidster guitar on youtube and on soundcloud (a lot of rough 'experiments' on there, but the song 'right to rock' gives you a sample of my attempts at writing this style of music). Send me a message if you think my playing would fit.
