Thank you all who offered help. It was PCB that was at fault. It took 5-10min to start the fan when the boiler was cold and then it was OK. A new PCB resolved the problem. I could hear a high pitch buzzing in old PCB, so it could be some cold contacts or capacitors/diodes gone. I am in process of replacing one radiator and I'd like to know where I could buy : two 0.5m long 10mm Barrier PE-X Coiled Pipes (Speedfit) and 4x 10mm JG Speedfit pipe inserts with double seals? Most shops sells 10m+ long pipes and 50 inserts and that's too much for what I need. Thank you Dusan.

Potterton Promax 15/2 HE Plus - 10years old. Last service a year ago. For past year once or twice a month the boiler didn’t start the heating in the morning. Pump and motorised valves were working OK. Only after pressing a reset button on the boiler all started up OK (ignition lockout). For some reason this boiler has LEDs hidden, so I never knew what the problem was before. Yesterday, the boiler wouldn’t start. Reset wouldn’t work. Tried to switch it off from mains, reset it many times, but still no fan or light would start. I removed the cover and noticed. ”Low Electrical Supply” LED warning according the manual, but that only lasted until I reset it few more times and all started working OK. This morning the boiler wouldn’t start, but this time“Dry-Fyre” fault was showing all day, 2-3min after the boiler power up. The water is in the system (I checked the loft tank), the pump is spinning. I bled radiators, but I could not get the fan working…. I measured the continuity on the Flow Switch inline connector and there was no resistance when the boiler was off or on. Later in the evening I tried few resets, as we needed hot water, and the boiler lit up as if nothing happened. All radiators are hot and the water cylinder full of hot water for today, but I fear it will be the same story tomorrow. Is it PCB at fault? Is there an RGI expert that could diagnose the fault and fix it? I would need a full CH system check as well as it hasn’t been done for long time except the boiler service or bleeding radiators. How much would it cost? Thank you.

here you go. English translation - much better than Google, but still better to read in Czech. http://gatesofvienna.net/2016/03/czech-m-d-in-britain-dont-let-the-czech-republic-follow-the-example-of-the-uk/ The problem is that Mr. Culik (Czech lecturer at Glasgow University) the founder of http://blisty.cz/ (also known in the online community as an "Attention W*ore") has grassed-up another Czech, because of the inability to express his own different views in other way. The article is far from inflammatory. It is well written factual observations of the 2 different cultures living in Britain from a view of a non-British immigrant. -

Rang NHBC and they advised to call Bellway as it's within first 2 years of the warranty. Sent an email to Bellway and followed up with a call. They promissed that they will contact me today. I received an email from the Bellway's Customer Care department later in the afternoon saying they have appointed a roof contractor to come over and fix the problem. will be posting .... -
Storm - Roof damage to the Parklands properties - Manor Top

We do hear a lot of bangs when there is a strong wind. The wind must have been lifting tiles up and that caused the mortar to cracle. But why always the first ridgetile is blown off ? I don't think the ridgetiles are touching the plywood, but I think the first layer just below the ridgetiles is not secured properly and flexing. -
Anyone else been kept awake all night by the wind?

I hope there will be no more winds or rain. We have already more than enough damage http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=314906 http://halamka.netfirms.com/ -
This morning after a windy night I noticed there is a ridge tile missing on our roof and having walked around the area of Parklands I noticed that we are not alone. Just around my house are 8 other houses with the same problem, where the first ridge tile was blown off last night. Funny thing is that only new properties had this problem most of the old properties are OK. Many properties that remain undamaged have cracks in mortar. Here are pics from today. http://halamka.netfirms.com/ I looked at the builders manuals (Bellway homes) and they say the NHBC insurance doesn't cover roof damage and we should contact home insurance. This seems to me more like faulty workmanship and it should be covered and repaired by the builder as we are still in first 2 year NHBC period. I am going to call Bellway tomorrow to see what they say. I wonder how others going to deal with the situation. If they are going to call Bellway, or their insurance ? Dusan

Hi , My girlfriend is an excellent piano player with University degree in Music(piano performance) and a teacher with 4 years piano teaching experience at Music art School, also played with a symphony orchestra and a few chamber bands. She is coming from Slovakia this week and I wonder where she should start looking for a job in Sheffield? Any suggestions welcomed. (website or address?) Thank you, Dusan
