Sheffield's nightclubs - do you remember...?
wizard2556 replied to Chris M's topic in Sheffield History & Expats
Does anyone remember the Penthouse used to play great music -
Let's put this right from the start , i work. Now i know that there are some people receiving benefits that should not , but spare a thought for the many people who through no fault of their own are having to rely on the benefits system this Christmas many of whom have worked all their lives , many many thousands of these people expected to have their benefits paid in by Christmas eve , for many people this didn't happen and d when they contacted the Dwp they were told that their benefit would be paid on the 27th Dec , guess what this hasn't happened not only are they still without money so are the people due to be paid today " HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO THE DWP and their paymasters the Government" bet their salaries were paid in time! :-( ba humbug

I lived in a bungalow just up from the robin hood pub for 11+ years and spent many hours going down several of the mines, myself , Robert Furniss (Mr furnisses nephew and a couple of others fetched brass bed set out of one mine, A man slept in there during the war ,my friend Richard parkes dad was landlord of the robin hood so i have been all over the pub cellars to the attic. Also me and my two brothers spent a lot of time inmr Furnishes very large home playing snooker on the massive table in the snooker room , at this time Mr furniss employed a house keeper and a groundsman i have loads more info about Little Matlock and Loxley woods and the pits and rolling mill if your interested you can email me at arlwizard2556@gmail .com -
