  1. Just seen this topic as I was browsing the site. I lived on the valley in the 60's/70's on overend drive and went to Mathews lane then central tech and knocked about the groom.
  2. I know this is a bit away from the topic but can anyone remember who was the pension provider for laycocks on archer road as I worked there for a number of years and paid into the pension but moved away and lost contact. I am owed something as it was frozen and they will only have my old address. Any help would be gratefully received.
  3. used to go in the black swan then but wasnt that big built just average.
  4. The mucky duck was the place to be for bands in the early seventies saw some great ones there, national and local bands some of which went on to be famous.

  6. RIP Elvo Used to know him years ago, in fact he was in a bad car crash with me at ladybower years ago. Used to knock about around town ie, pond street, castle market gallery etc with the likes of eskimo, cat, lip, bert etc.
  7. Helloooooooooooooooo Just been introduced to this forum and thought I would just post a short introduction. I lived on gleadless valley from 1961 till about 1974 on overend drive. Went to Herdings then on to Gleadless vallay then to Central Technical school. Knocked about with the Groom mob and which alas some have passed away and lost contact with the rest. Also the lads from Heeley. Will think of something else to put when I have time.
