Lyceum Theatre Discount Codes
lollipop2011 replied to Justcaring's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
depending how old you are they often do live for 5 tickets for under 25 individuals at 5 pound...worth looking into as I passed my tickets once to an elderly couple and they still got in. Bit risky mind. -
Collegiate crescent derelict house?
lollipop2011 replied to cheshirecat7's topic in Sheffield Property & Housing
I used to volunteer when it was the centre for HIV and sexual health... Inside was really lovely and full of character! So sad to hear that it is left in a sorry state. It was fabulous inside like I said and well looked after! -

The Sheffield Shops Class Divide
lollipop2011 replied to Katwalk's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Don't know where the convo is heading here. But I know id love to see independent fruit and veg shops! In my area there is nothing like that S12/S13. And I have to trail to the market in town to get fresh produce. I have found it much cheaper to do this than going to the supermarket e.g co-op etc. I think its lovely to keep independent businesses going, and now im a regular at the veg stall right at the back of the market - the lovely lady gives me discount or knocks a quid off when I buy loads. In my area though people don't think like this and buy ping meals etc from Fultons (now theres nothing wrong with that, as its down to individual preference. ) I suppose its all down to life choices, and how people choose to live. Educate people all they want (not being negative) but if people simply cant be bothered for example to prepare veg etc they simply wont. Especially when Fultons do ping sunday dinners for a pound. I do see the ladys point though who initially posted the discussion. -

I have done this before, and gave homeless people money. This probably isn't the best idea. So now I either give them food or drink etc. I have had one guy turn down food (two m and s egg custards) no joke! I have found in my own personal experience that some people either want help or not - simple really. But I do think know one should be left facing homelessness and I couldn't imagine it being a pleasant experience for anyone. I do wonder though if these people are beaten down so much and simply don't have the skills to seek help etc? Makes me sad as well though that there is people pretending to be homeless to rip people off.. -

Disturbing sight on Division Street
lollipop2011 replied to Mister M's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
It makes me sad to think that people are facing such circumstances - in a world that in my opinion has become crazy! Within social services from my experience from working within teams that deal with vulnerable adults. More often than not individuals are looked at as a ticket number (This is due to professionals having such huge caseloads, there simply aren't enough hours in a day). I found this difficult and im sure I will continue to do so in my future working in social services as I genuinely do care. But the people above you with most power bang on about dealing with those who shout loudest first in fear of getting complaints made etc. I just wish that in the future more is done to help those in genuine need like this guy on division street. Everyone has a reason why they end up in these circumstances and it im sure they don't want to be in a position that they are in. Know one should be left on the streets like this. Sorry to babble! -

Help needed for healthy recipes - for an event
lollipop2011 replied to cmw1's topic in Sheffield Foodies
I think what cmw1 was trying to achieve from posting on the forum was ideas about what low fat recipes people are most popular and what us guys rate the most from our own personal experiences to make the most of the event they are trying to run I do not think she was posting to make life easier or to get us to do the work for them! Come on guys lets be a bit chilled about things! x -

Hi everyone, I’m really needing a bit of a hand. I’m looking to organise a clothes swap event in Sheffield in around 6 weeks’ time. Entry 2 pound ish and people can take what they like. The idea is to get the community together and raise money for a cause close to my heart that is Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind& partially sighted. ALL the proceeds raised would be used in many ways supporting people that use the services. Help with costs of implementing activities for example the wee babies that use the service. This is where i need your help... If anyone could be kind enough to donate free of charge any old clothes etc it would be amazing. If anyone would like to do this could you get in touch via the forum. This charity is really does good work for people and your help will make this good work continue With thanks

Hi there i have a 10 week old yorkshire terrier girl. Im trying my best to toilet train her, news paper to puppy training pads but she doesnt like using them. She is due her second lot of injections next week, so then we will be able to take her out. Also she has got into this habit of biting our feet constantly which is becoming a pain.
