  1. Try turning all the other radiators off and see if its air in the return pipe stopping it getting warm. If this doesn't help then it could be a problem with the valve. If it's a thermostatic radiator valve and been turned off for a long time it may be stuck on its seating. If that's the case remove trv header and try moving the pin beneath up and down. If all that doesn't work you'd need a professional.
  2. Powerflushing can only remove so much. If it's a really clogged piece of pipe then it would require replacing. I'd say grading valve will be shut down too much. Causing it to whistle. ---------- Post added 08-01-2018 at 21:22 ---------- Have you tried cleaning out the filter since? I've never seen a manga clean totally blocked. but if the system was really bad I could see how if clogged up it would cause quite a bit of restriction. But you would think if installed correctly it would case the noise alll the time as it should be fitted on return to boiler or between the pump and valve.
  3. Sounds like a restriction in the hot water circuit. Maybe the grading valve on hot water return is closed down too much ( gate valve on bottom pipe out of cylinder), could also be the 3 port valve is blocked up with sludge or return from boiler is partially blocked. What speed setting is the pump set on? If 3 try setting it to 2. ---------- Post added 07-01-2018 at 21:33 ---------- That's return from cylinder is partially blocked.
  4. It could be numerous things faulty thermostat, faulty high limit thermistor, blocked heat exchanger, pump not circulating correctly ( pump knackered). Only way to tell for certain would be a visit.
  5. Well my dog was freaking out earlier in our own back yard. Other half came out to see and saw nothing. Turns out lady two doors up has had an attempted break in, they must have walked up path at rear of property. So I would listen to my dog aswell.
  6. Wether you manage to get a 3/4 gate valve (which I very much doubt) the system will still need draining down. Like as previously mentioned I would just fit a 22mm gate valve with 3/4 olives. The olives are just slightly thicker to take up the difference. It is not a bodge that is what they are designed for. With 30+ radiators on the system and the valve on the return to the boiler bunging the 15mm cold feed and 22mm open vent is very unlikely to work ( it uses vacuum to suspend the water) and it would still be a full drain down unless the engineer fancied getting wet. Is the gate valve leaking? Why does it need replacing? Regards Chris ---------- Post added 13-05-2017 at 20:42 ---------- I've just had a look on eBay and all the ones that came up are bsp so with an internal thread. Dependant on the type of valve that is fitted I'm quite sure the thread is the wrong way round. You usually only see that type on 28mm+ valves. (Unless it was in a commercial property.
  7. Problem is we all read and interpret the rules slightly different. So would a flue fitted with a plume management with the manufacturers recommended minimum clearances be classed as an illegal placement. I would say no. The only times I would think that rule would apply would be boundary clearances and flues onto public spaces ( min height of 2.4m) so fitting a plume management would still mean the flue was a contravention to the rules. In the absence of the manufacturers instructions gas safe guidelines must be followed so in this case following the Worcester Bosch instructions would over rule.
  8. So Worcester Bosch design a plume management kit to be used on the appropriate flues , that states when used the air Inlet can be reduced down to 150mm to any openings into the building. e.g an openable window, door or air vent but because someone has fitted an air vent to close to the flue then it now cannot be used as the flue was fitted first. Then why did Worcester design it so it can be retrofitted to existing flues? A plume management cannot be fitted to reduce the boundary clearance from 300mm to 150mm but that is the only time I can think that it would not be off use.
  9. you can fit a plume management kit to the Worcester Bosch boiler. By fitting a plume management kit you can take the air inlet down to 150mm to the vent as the exhaust will then be over 300mm then it will not be an illegal flue position.
  10. No offence but if you are competent to work on a gas supply then you would have already known a push fit fitting was not suitable for gas. I think next year I'll not bother with my gas safe certificate as I'm competent and meticulous in my work. Should be a good enough excuse if I'm ever caught out. You do also realise that while soldering gas pipework the meter needs to be either removed or disked to prevent any build up of gas combusting.
  11. Hi I'm unable to pm you as I don't have enough posts but I believe they are my mum's car keys. Make begins with a c. Could you contact me please on 07979560298. Thank you chris ---------- Post added 13-05-2015 at 22:57 ---------- Hi just wanted to say thank you very much again for handing the keys in. My mum has picked them up this morning. She is over the moon. So thank you very much for taking the time. Thanks chris
  12. My neighbours dog was barking all last night. So I jumped over fence picked dog up, brought it over to my garden. See how my neighbours like it now.
