  1. I was wondering if anyone out there has any knowledge of the local darts scene? I used to play about 3/4 years ago in Monday & Tuesday night leagues and did play a few games superleague (not at a great standard myself!) down in Devon but i moved back to Sheffield and stopped playing. Had an afternoon playing on old friend at Christmas and it's put me back into the mood to try again. Are there any pub leagues and what nights are games played? Are there any teams looking for players? I am based around Hillsborough / Southey so a team local to there would be ideal but don't mind too much. Anyone out there know any info?
  2. Bruce Springsteen ... Brian Fallon Passing of the torch almost... when Bruce gives up! Now - a lot of artists cover songs, a lot of artists throw away compliments and influences. Watch this ... Brian is like he has just got Wonka's golden ticket. This is quite old but i still love this. A lot of respect from both artists.
  3. The £250 figure quoted wouldn't be the daily rate .. They would be paid per delivery and per collection. The £250 daily rate wouldn't be far of what they could earn but would depend on what deliveries they had on that specific day and what their collections would kick out.
  4. Like ive said previously .. i worked at a company that charged drivers for cover but they still earnt from that route on that day as it was there route by contract. I see no difference why it shouldn't be same for parcelforce unless we believe the media
  5. Just going to throw this out there If i had a route with Parcelforce - which earned me £300 a day I went sick for a day Parcelforce charged me £250 to cover my route I earned £50 for being off sick What would your feelings be??
  6. Quote I'm surprised the guardian have left out facts - like the rest of our national newspapers, they're always so accurate [/sARCASM] It wouldnt surprise me if they have left out facts. Don't believe all you read. Some companies may be different. I'm only commenting from my own experience but i know for a fact where i worked previously i've had drivers before pull sickies and make money PS i have no idea how to do quotes!
  7. I'd like to go back to the original statement here ... when they say they are charged £250 a day .. does that mean they get no earnings from the route and lose £250 in charges. Because i bet they actually get charged £250 minus what they would have earnt on the route that day. Some routes can earn over that a day .. some less. At the end of the day id be surprised if they end £250 out of pocket. Ive just read the article .. that is slightly unfair actually not getting the earnings from the route .. missed the link earlier
  8. Ivan is spot on here. You bought goods from a seller and you haven't received them. It is up to the seller to refund and claim with the delivery agent - i've had to do this before as the seller. They will be covered up to £20 i believe unless they paid for extra cover when shipping.
  9. Worked for FedEx in Devon as a supervisor in the office. It is the drivers route and all monies from that route they were entitled too. If they took a day sick they would still earn whatever that route made that day minus the cost of covering it. I suppose a little bit like being a shop owner. If you were sick and employed someone to run the shop that day you would still take whatever profit on sales minus the cost to have someone work the shop for you. Same thing will apply if they have holiday - they would need to organise route cover. That would come at a cost to the route owner so no different with taking a sick day.
  10. I find when i've listened to Sunday radio in the past it's ended up with me on a phone in. I stay clear now
  11. Filmed this in Leeds before Christmas. Brian Fallon - Sooooo Underrated!
  12. The Steelers head to Cardiff tomorrow for the challenge cup final. All the best to the team and hopefully they can bring back some silverware to the city. They will have to be better than tonight's performance v Coventry. A very drab afternoon / evening affair but half expected with aspirations of the league title gone and one eye on tomorrow's game. ---------- Post added 05-03-2017 at 19:08 ---------- Cardiff take the Challenge Cup 3-2. Well deserved and a great game.
  13. 92/93 ... one of the first championship managers and was a great game. Ahhh, not that Championship Manager Warnock, Holloway ... Id like to argue Dyche here but with him taking Burnley up twice he hasn't spent as long as others managing at this level. I guess there are a few "championship managers" that may have only spent a few seasons due to success rather than the stalwarts who keep teams in it. Id plump for Mick McCarthy though. Promoted with 2 different teams from Championship , kept Ipswich up the season he joined and finished a credible 7th last season against teams with way bigger budgets
