manxcat   10 #157 Posted January 4, 2007 Maybe McDonalds should start selling egg and grapefruit McMuffins minus the muffin to the fatties!! (See the Egg and Grapefuit diet thread:hihi: )
 Share this content via...
Johnh   10 #158 Posted January 4, 2007 Isn't it only children that eat in McDonalds/Burger King/Damons?? Surely the education should start at school. By the time turnstiles are installed the damage is already done!
 Share this content via...
Chris_Sleeps   10 #159 Posted January 4, 2007 the example proves that a fit athletic sports person would cost just as much if not more for medical costs than an overweight person. No, your example proves that sometimes athletes need medical help aswell. Nobody said being slim stopped you ever needing to visit an hospital. willman   10 #160 Posted January 4, 2007 No, your example proves that sometimes athletes need medical help aswell. Nobody said being slim stopped you ever needing to visit an hospital.   but my initial post was in reply to "obese people need more hospital care". nobody said obese people don't always need more hospital care either, but more athletes, sportsmen require medical attention for a longer period than obese people.   you can't have it all ways. Chris_Sleeps   10 #161 Posted January 4, 2007 you can't have it all ways. I'm not having it any way, your playing with contexts. Its medical fact that obesity is not good for your health. You can't deny that? I'll leave it alone now anyway, its coming to the end of its course this thread.
 Share this content via...
willman   10 #162 Posted January 4, 2007 its not a question of contexts. 1 in 5 people are obese, so 20% of the opulation COULD suffer. how many people play sports? more than 20% of the population.  so are they more at risk to health issues or injuries than obese people, if so , obese people are no more of a threat to the NHS than healthy ,fit people.
