  1. Try the Egg Diet instead - http://www.afn.org/~poultry/eggdiet.htm Very easy and it works:)
  2. Freecycle isn't a business with items for sale to make a profit though is it? If you are genuinely looking to furnish your place and don't have the cash to pay for items outright you can't afford to be too picky (neither of course can you afford to let legalised loan sharks like Brighthouse take advantage!!). You can email people off Freecycle for more info and maybe a photo of anything that might be suitable - stuff gets snapped up quickly though.
  3. Jason - PLEASE read the link below from the Consumer Action Group about Brighthouse and have a look at the forum about Brighthouse on their site. I would rather furnish my house with cardboard boxes than go to Brighthouse - of course you don't need to do that, just get what you need from Freecycle:thumbsup: Then save up to buy better stuff if you need it. When I was younger I thought advice from parents about saving up and not buying stuff on credit was old fashioned and boring. But, believe me, after having just having shifted all my debt after years and years, I would choose old fashioned, boring saving and doing without what I can't afford any day. http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?130871 http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/forumdisplay.php?164-BrightHouse-and-other-rent-to-own-Hire-Purchase-Stores
  4. OMG the egg diet!!!! My mate went on the egg diet and has seriously lost shed loads of fat. It is awesome http://www.afn.org/~poultry/eggdiet.htm
  5. :hihi:Oh, I dunno maybe living on lemons is fun. You're sure to lose weight anyway!!! http://www.thelemonadesite.com/beyonces-lemonade-diet.html
  6. Beyonce also keeps her weight down by going on the Lemon Diet!!!
  7. Beyonce did go on the lemon juice diet to lose 20 lbs, there's this about it: The Master Cleanser, otherwise known as the lemonade diet, has been getting a lot of press recently since Beyonce Knowles admitting to using the crash diet to lose 20 lbs for her role as Dina in the hit movie “Dreamgirls.” The former Destiny’s Child singer states she was motivated to shed the pounds “to go the extra mile.” She reportedly told China Daily, “Back in the sixties, models like Twiggy were popular and I knew Deena would have been thin then, so even though I really love eating, it was necessary to lose weight really fast because we shot Deena at 16 and Deena at 36 two weeks apart.” The Master Cleanser, also known as the “Master Cleanse diet”, “lemonade diet”, “lemonade fast”, “Master Cleanser lemonade fast” and the “maple syrup diet”, was popularized by Stanley Burroughs as a way to cleanse, detox and lose weight. Far from being a “detox diet” the master cleanser actually causes a build up of toxins. Please see the dangers of the Master Cleanser. According to Beyonce, “My nutritionist suggested the only way to do that was the (lemonade diet) fast.”
  8. Because they can get away with it. Especially in the current climate. When the financial climate improves they will (hopefully) shoot themselves in the foot for failing to recruit and retain good staff.
  9. But unlike a real book, you can't pass a Kindle book on to friends and family when you've finished it! And again it comes down to the number of books you read - you can get new books cheap online and at discount book stores. OK - maybe not latest releases but don't think they're ultra cheap on Kindle either. And of course you can cheap secondhand books. All without the outlay for a Kindle.
  10. That's what I hope. A lot of people seem to be jumping on the Kindle bandwagon though. I'm sure they're great for people that get through loads of throwaway novels but I reckon a lot of people have been convinced it's something they 'need' to have or keep up the Joneses:suspect:
  11. Any idea how to remedy low back pain?? I've twisted my back taking furniture to the tip a couple of days ago so now the lowest part of my back is suffering!! Not going to the doctor as it's clearly not serious and I'm sure they're busy with more pressing ailments at this time of year. Just wondering if there are ways to get rid of this more quickly.
  12. I'd rather have real book than a Kindle any day. I love the smell and feel of a brand new book. And also love finding a bargain, interesting book in secondhand or charity shops. I am a Luddite and proud of it:thumbsup:
  13. Hi - Daybell&Choo at Hunters Bar have a supply of stock lenses, including GP I'm pretty sure!! I've had GP lenses for yonks and think they are great. You can still GP lenses - though if you go somewhere like Specsavers I've noticed the newer opticians don't seem to know much about them which might explain some of the comments on here. You can get GP lenses on a regular replacement by direct debit at Daybell& Choo so you always the backup of your last pair of lenses which won't be too old to use if you lose your new ones - just store the old ones in DRY case.
  14. Just to get this back on topic from the cat food replies, I've used Sainsburys Basics washing powder and it seems fine. It's worth a try to save money:thumbsup:
