Switching Internet Suppliers

My 5 Year old Pixel C Tablet is wi fi connected to my plugged in Sky Router, I am thinking of buying one of these
 Would it be simple to switch often from the Sky internet supply to the Mobile broadband supply, if possible it would help if someone could explain how.
I should have mensioned I occasionly I want to leave the tablet with my wife wfe in a care home

Can you see on your sky router how much data you are using?
That's so you know what kind of data package you need for the sim card.
You would have 2 wifi points then, one for Sky and one for the TP link

The easiest way would be:

 

 

Connect the tablet to both with user/password.

 

Turn OFF the mobile TP-Link unit when not in use.

 

The tablet will auto switch back to your Sky-WiFi, as it's a known network.

 

I dare say there's a way to prioritise them on the tablet. I use a few networks on my tablet but I'm always out of distance between them, so not had to look into it.

 

If you want your wife to have internet connection on the tablet, either use the care homes WiFi (if they have it), or leave the TP-Link unit with her.

 

Either way you use it, be careful with mobile data. It can be very expensive, and very easily used up!
