Any Good Spanish Restaurants?

Recommended Posts

Anyone know of a good Spanish Style Restaurant in the Sheffield area, we will soon be entertaining people from Spain and we are looking for a decent restaurant.

It does not have to be Spanish, something a bit different would be fine.

Thanks

why not take them to a good English restaurant?

don't ask me to recommend one though, I'm veggie and tend to eat Italian, Indian, Thai, Chinese etc etc :)

thers an absolutley fantastic tapas restaurant in meadowhall (suprisingly)

...."La Tasca" (i think). me and my girlfriend love it, its definately the best tapas place in sheffield. Cubanos is also very good. Didn't think too much of the choice at "La Mancha"

I know it's not spanish but the HUI WEI in the old glossop road baths is really good, We went a few weeks ago and the food was fantastic and the service was great too.

Infact It took me ages to decide because everyting sounded really yummy :D

The Mediterranean on Sharrow Vale Rd is very good. They specialise in fish and the food is mainly Spanish style.I love their tapas menu but I think they possibly only do tapas on weekdays but not sure.

La Tasca is really good - tho it is a chain.

Huge range of tapas to choose from and whenever I've been there it's been gorgeous - tho i haven't been to the new one in Sheffield. Wouldn't recommend La Mancha - at all!

For Spanish-ish food - Spinrocs in Crookes, The Mediterranean on Sharrowvale road, La Mancha on West Street?? and I hear the Wig and Pen is good for Tapas.

Otherwise - Santino's on Eccy road is my fave.

Been to 'em all but not a regular at any of them...

None of them were breathtakingly good but Spinrocs was the worst, La Mancha the best, though Wig and Pen IS good for Tapas.

The one thing that really let La Mancha down when I went was crab sticks in the Paella! Why? It was fine without them - leave them out!!

I would imagine Cubana may be more authentic than La Tasca...

Yeh. Why not take them to an English pub ? Or a decent carvary ? It's very traditional, and it's a bit of a culture for them too.

Or take them to a chinese restaurant. Cos the chinese out in Spain is really bad. The same in Italy too. If you want a bit more authenticity, then go to somewhere like Zing Vaa. Else a local take-away would give u the British fusion and old take-away favourites.
