Mig welder wire wont feed

Recommended Posts

Can anyone help ?? i have a cosmo 150 gasless mig welder. its been working fine for the past 6 month, now the wire wont feed,no motor working, just the fan and a clicking noise when the trigger is pulled.

Does anyone know what the problem could be, or where i can get it repaired.

Kind Regards Trev:)

6 months - I would think it would still be under the Manufacturers guarantee....

The first obvious thing is the switch in the torch. Can you put a meter across the terminals in the machine (with it unplugged from the mains of course) and see if you get a continuity reading when you press the switch.

Take tension off feed roller then try it to see if motor spins,if not disconnect the gun get a short wire and put one end in each hole on the gun housing if motor spins it maybe broken wire in the gun,you can put a external wire on to keep you going instead of spending x£'s

The wire isn't stuck in the tip is it ?

Or has the wire got a flat spot at the point it touches the roller ?

Pull an inch through and retry
