Recommended Posts

Hi

I am trying to get some info on a George Cunningham watercolour I own. Is anyone out there a collector or someone who has knowledge of his work.

Thanks.

I gathered you might have an 'original'....There's a few auction sites I noticed when I found that link, but you have to register and log in, to find prices. But as yours will be unique, it's difficult to say what it might be worth, but looking at others of a similar size and subject, might give you an idea of a 'ball park' figure of the value.

You need to contact Roy Newman of Dinnington History Group he was Georges best friend and is an acknowledged expert on his paintings having quite a collection of originals himself.Dont waste your time looking anywhere else.

Hi

No not really, although I didn’t really do much digging around. The painting is called Morning Deliveries, Castleton painted in 1994. I bought it from Hibbert Bros. it was painted to be printed on Xmas cards (the shop gave me a few) I know nothing about it.

I am unsure about how much or little help it will be to you however there is a Facebook

page titled " George Cunningham a very fine gentleman" that is run by his niece Pamela.

There's an art gallery on a side Rd off Ecclesall Rd that specialises in his work and had the remains of his work given them by his wife, my guess would be £150_ £ 250 depending on size.
