You assume I agree with either of them.

No I don't, I assume that you think IS are doing something different to what Islams founder did, if you think they are doing the same then clearly IS can't be twisting Islam unless you also think Islams founder twisted Islam.

For 1300 years followers of Islam has followed a path of violently attempting to impose their religion on others and killing those who would not accept indoctrination. The only difference now is the weapons they use to achieve their aims are more dangerous, their aims rather more ambititious and a world media that reports what is going on.

As did Christianity.

You might well argue that is true of Islam, but you can't miss out the other groups that did exactly the same.

Of course, that's no defence of foolish groups such as ISIS, but many other groups and countries have done worse, including Britain in its colonial era, and the US of A since WWII.

ISIS, bunch of silly bugger that they are, have murdered hundreds, America did more in just one illegal (and hidden) war when they carpet bombed Cambodia.

Again, it doesn't excuse Islamic extremists, but many countries have very little high moral ground to stand on and preach.

The Foreign (and Domestic) behaviour of many countries has been pretty bad.

To be fair the kind of atrocities that are currently going on there are no different to whats going on in Africa, and has gone on over there for many years.

The only difference we care is because the Terrorists in the middle east have a habit of lashing out at western countries.

But, if you're being fair, America (and others) attacked them first, and/or supported their enemies.

Not that I excuse terrorist attacks, but you can hardly blame someone for returning fire.

Iran is a prime example.

Britain and the US removed the democratically elected government in favour of an American puppet.

America moaned when their puppet was removed.

Of course, the government there at the moment are total nut jobs, but America and Britain set the whole thing going.

The west has little to complain about.

America and Britain armed anti Assad fighters in Syria, calling them moderate opposition. Yep - very moderate.

This is hardly the best link (Press TV is pretty crap) but it follows the same story as the rest. The SAS being used to train Syrian opposition groups, including people now known as ISIS.

Western powers armed and trained these people, but the various governments want everyone to forget that.

That's right.

Christianity is founded on the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and he didn't advocate violence, didn't use violence and didn't lead armies into battle, which would mean that killing must be wrong from a Christians point of view.

Islam is founded on the life and teachings of Mohammad and he used violence and conquest to spread the word of Islam, he lead armies into battle that resulted in the deaths of thousands of people.

Can you see the difference and understand why groups like IS believe they are just following the examples set by Mohammad.

Tell the crusaders.

Tell the members of the Spanish inquisition (no one expected that)

And so on.

"In God we trust" is stamped on every dollar, but that lot have killed a lot of people.

Wonder why this is unused,

"Foreign Enlistment Act 1870

Penalty on leaving Her Majesty’s dominions with intent to serve a foreign state.

If any person, without the license of Her Majesty, being a British subject, quits or goes on board any ship with a view of quitting Her Majesty’s dominions, with intent to accept any commission or engagement in the military or naval service of any foreign state at war with a friendly state, or, whether a British subject or not, within Her Majesty’s dominions, induces any other person to quit or to go on board any ship with a view of quitting Her Majesty’s dominions with the like intent,—

He shall be guilty of an offence against this Act, and shall be punishable by fine and imprisonment, or either of such punishments, at the discretion of the court before which the offender is convicted."
