Newfield School New Uniform

Recommended Posts

Like Forge Valley School. Newfield has also decided to change its uniform, the powers that be have chosen A blazer with a polo shirt and jumper all have to have the new school logo. So instead of £20 for a couple of jumpers come September I have to find £200 Parents pupils and new starters were all meant to have a say but only my son who is a pupil was asked.

None of the parents want this combination - no popping down to Matalan for

spare polos

No doubt school profit comes first. I am all in favour of uniform and think it a good thing but it has to be sensible and affordable

Do you not get your first set of uniforms free?

Do any schools give out free uniform?

I think there is funding within the academy conversion money to cover rebranding etc which could be used for uniform but it isn't much money

When Waltheof & Myrtle Springs converted to academies with blazers etc. all existing pupils were given one free issue.

New intake then knew what was required when they applied and bought their own.

Nothing on offer at Newfield we have to buy it all including the £8 polo shirts which can only be bought at one place

Inevitable. The changes the government have made to education have forced schools to become businesses.

All children were issued with a form outlining the changes/options and this contained a voting form.

We received one, was brought home by our Y7 daughter and she took it back.

We also received a letter (again daughter brought it home) informing us of the results and costs etc. They received 600 returns out of 900 pupils

We got the results, but no voting form for us as parents or for my daughter
