wayeye   10 #2 Posted February 21, 2014 You will not get free childcare anywhere for under twos as far as I know.  Free childcare that is widely available is the 2 Year FEL (Free Early Learning) which is available to some families but not all, depends on your circumstances  Taken from Sheffield City Council:  "Eligibility To get a free place your family must receive one or more of the following: Income Support; Income based Jobseekers Allowance; Income related Employment and Support Allowance; Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999; The guarantee element of the State Pension Credit; Child Tax Credit, provided you are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual income that does not exceed £16,190 (as assessed by HM Revenue & Customs). Children can also have a free place if they are cared for by ourselves. "   3 Year FEL which is available to all children the term after their third birthday and is for 15 hours a week.  Hope this helps. schminke   10 #3 Posted February 26, 2014 Why does your daughter think she should be entitled to free childcare?! Or do you mean free as in available?  There are loads of places available, but of course you have to pay. Whereabouts does she want a place? People may be able to recommend.
