We have friends who send their two kids there and they're very complimentary. Their youngest really likes some of the 'forest school' type stuff they do and the eldest is just about to start rehearsing for a choir competition. From what I can work out behaviour in the classroom is very good and certainly my friends' kids at least have made really good progress there. We often walk past as the pupils are coming out of school and you can always see the Head in the front yard chatting to parents. He seems very approachable. Good luck!

Fabgirl - the address given on the Contact Us page is the address where the classes are held.

Catchment areas can be quite odd shapes. I know High Storrs, Silverdale and King Ecgberts all take 'slices' of the city with catchments extending to Sharrow and Broomhall. I'd guess it'll be similar in other parts of the city.

The Nether Edge School whats it like?

I know two families that send their kids there and they're both really happy. Our eldest will hopefully start there in September next year, along with some of his friends from nursery. The head teacher who has been there 4 or 5 years seems really good and there's been lots of work going on improving the outdoor space even more. -
Yeah, thanks, my post on here wasn't verbatim what I said to the police! It was the racing and hence dangerous driving that they were reported for.
-
I reported two of them to 101 on Tuesday. They were racing up Empire Road without helmets on.
-
I don't know the area too well, but on a couple of occasions when I've been in the library there's been a group singing nursery rhymes in the kids bit. It was either a Wednesday or Thursday morning at about 10. They may be able to advise in there on other groups too.

In town I'd say your best bets were John Lewis and Mothercare. If you got a tram to Meadowhall Retail Park the Babies R Us has quite a few in, and at Meadowhall there's a Mamas and Papas shop where you can try out theirs.

I think each school will be different. This is Meadowhead's procedure for example:http://www.meadowhead.sheffield.sch.uk/news/?pid=80&nid=1&storyid=118 Which school is it? ---------- Post added 06-08-2014 at 22:28 ---------- High Storrs policy: http://www.highstorrs.co.uk/2014/06/gcse-and-gce-results/

Wedding catering, fish and chip van hire or pizza oven?
schminke replied to natjao's topic in General Discussions
Nether Edge Pizza Company have a pizza oven, you could contact them for a quote. They're outside Cafe #9 in Nether Edge every Wednesday if you want to sample their pizza. I would worry about timescales of serving though as a previous poster mentions. -
Ha ha! OK, I get that! Schools just need to give as much notice as possible - I'm pretty sure we can agree on that
-
No it doesn't! Why are you not getting this?! All staff in a union will strike so them informing school or not makes no difference to the school's understanding of who will strike! Schools know who is in each union so they know who will be in. No, it's not the parents fault, it's the schools' fault - so why do you keep blaming the teachers? (Who are not the same as the school, in case that point needs making.)
-
I completely understand this, but it is the school's responsibility to inform parents, and whether staff inform the school or not doesn't make any difference, so the union's instruction has no consequence. Why are you taking issue with the union instruction when it has no impact on parents?
-
Did you see my earlier post? Almost all teachers in a particular union will strike if their union strikes so schools will know pretty much who will not be in, regardless of whether they are officially informed by a member of staff or not. ---------- Post added 08-07-2014 at 13:06 ---------- If the money sorted all the problems out then sure, but most of the problems can't be sorted out by money.
-
No. Not because the money's not going to teachers though, but because money is just one of the many problems that we have at the moment.
